Do I Get A Re-Do?

Um. Yea. Well, to save my arse a tad, I knew that eating right and all would be difficult while the fam is still home on their holiday breaks. The hubby, who’s been home for five days, decided that to keep himself from feeling guilty while sitting on his hiney watching sports, he would consistantly insist that I, too, needed to do nothing while he was home. Of course, he throws in there that since I work so hard every day, that I deserve a mini vacation too. Aha! That, to him, also means no cooking. Before I can even make up my mind, he’s proudly beaming at the door with armfulls of fast food.

Luckily, he tries to be smart about it for me, getting me grilled chicken sandwiches from whatever cardboard server he visited. With that, I usually toss the bun and eat the grilled chicken with only the tomato they put on top of it.

Can I lie and say I stayed away from french fries totally? No. I can’t. I did eat fries, although only a small handful. (Yes, I am rationalizing here!)

I did manage a good breakfast and lunch today. Two cups of black coffee, (so not good, but I found out that Starbucks is worse than a Quarter Pounder!) an apple and a glass of orange juice. I’ve not drank as much water as I should have today, only taking in 4 glasses so far. I guess I’ve got time to get 4 more in before bed, but I generally try not to so close to bedtime or I never get a peaceful sleep.

I had brown rice and chicken for lunch (one of those lean quisine things) with water. I ate popcorn as a mid afternoon snack, no butter, no salt.

I have to admit, I didn’t get much exercise today, as hubby kept hollering for me to sit down and relax. To be extra mean, he put “Pretty Woman” on and forced me to sit and watch it. Evil I tell you!

He goes back to work tomorrow, which will give me the time and peace I need to stay away from the fast food and to get some activity in. I still have to buy that scale (insert horrid whine here) so that I can weigh in from time to time. It must remain locked up in the floor safe though so that I don’t go crazy insane, becoming a slave to the numbers again.

I am going to have orange jello made with mandarine oranges for dessert tonight. Jello is good, right?

Man, I feel so bloated after all this fast food this week! I’ll be so glad when the kids go back to school, hubby is back at work, and the dog and I are left to our own devices. She misses walking with mommy, too.

Oh man, now I want Jello.

Sugar Free jello is awesome…most diet plans count it as a free food, unless you’re eating a gallon of it at a time ;)

It’s hard when you aren’t getting a lot of help at home. But he’ll come around when he sees your progress.
