Today has been OK….I think.

Firstly its 7.48pm UK time…just so no one is confused as to why I am talking about dinner when its just lunch time.  ;-)

Well I have been quite good today i think.  I have had plenty of water today.  So far I have had 10 8oz glasses so thats 80 fl oz.  Thats quite good isn’t it?

Food wise I have had a baked potato with beans and a small amount of cheese, then for dinner tonight we had a gammon steak, a few boiled new potatoes and salad veg….NO coleslaw, but we did have a little salad cream. I had a slice of my xmas cake that is still kicking around my kitchen mid afternoon with my cup of tea and a small drink of baileys with my dinner….but all in all not too bad I don’t think?

Ok, reading that back, I could have done a lot better! I could have had some breakfast for a start and missed out the cake and the baileys….LOL But hey I could have done a lot worse too right? I could have eaten my way through one of the 3 (yes 3) tubs of pringles in my cupboard or a pack or 2 of chocolate biscuits…but I didn’t. :-)

I should have done some exercise too, but I didn’t and I am not going to beat myself up about what i haven’t managed to do today, there is no point in that….just have to try and do better tomorrow.  I DID buy myself a pedometer today, so I can keep some kind of track of how much activity i am doing.

Hi there -

Just tracking what you’re eating is a big start because as you just realized, reading back what you ate gives you a bit of a new perspective on what you could have skipped or traded in on. :)

Man, Pringles are like a package of explosives in my house - I can’t resist them… so I refuse to buy them unless they’re in the little travel packs. *laughs*

Like Jane said, keeping track does so much–it is the mindless eating that gets me in trouble, anyway. You are doing great!

I think it’s a great start… and like above commenters, simply being aware is a huge thing. I’m learning from ya’ll already!

Ok..one thing I remember from WW. If every night you have a piece of cake, still have it, just a smaller piece, or have it every other day. The example..if you have cake 7 days a week, have it 7 days, then the next week, 6 days, then 5 then 4 then 3, eventually you won’t be craving it.
It actually worked for some stuff.
Good luck to ya

You’re doing great! The fact that you can look back and know where you could improve is wonderful! You’re doing way better than I right now! Hugs to you! Keep it up!

The key is portion control. I think journaling really helps, too. You will be surprised at the end of the day if you write down everything that you eat. Just like you were when you just blogged it for us.

We have a saying in WW…one day at a time, no guilt and move on! Sometimes, it could read one minute at a time! :) Seriously, you can beat yourself up, you just get right back on track. You can do it and we are here to help!

I meant you CAN’T beat yourself up, not you CAN! :) Sorry!

Hey Ivory, good for you for getting the pedometer. I have one but I’m afraid of it… I can spend half an hour on the treadmill, and it’s barely moved.. it’s so discouraging! If that’s not a blatant hint I need to move around more, I don’t know what is :)
