HI!

I was so excited when I read about “Pounds2Go” on Leanne’s blog.

I can usually be found at CrazedMom.  I don’t talk about my weight issues over there…it’s too depressing.

When did it all start? When I went back to work and then I really packed on the pounds when we bought the store. I used to work out all the time and lost most of the baby weight when I had my son (now 12) and the twins (now 10).  With the stress of running of the business my husband and I have let our weight and health go right to hell….

I had to have my appendix out at Thanksgiving.  That of course was not the easy whip our your appendix operation it should have been.  It was 8 days in the hospital in two stays, with tons of tests.  I didn’t eat for almost 2 weeks.  A few weeks later I developed an infection and had to have another surgery.  The bottom line my recovery is slow.  I have managed to lose 13 pounds, but I would not reccomend this diet.  SOmeone asked me what I thought this all meant.  I looked at them like they were crazy and said it means I need to TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!  Duh!

I don’t make resoultions …. I break them and then I feel guilty.  WHo needs more of that.  What I need is stop beating myself up all the time and LOVE ME!  Don’t you think that is true.  IF I stopped putting husbands, kids, work, cleaning and mounds of laundry first, and put myself first then I would not look like I do.

The stats:  I will be FORTY this year. Married forever (13 years). 3 kids, 2 businesses.  I live in New England.

Pounds to lose: 50

Hi Nancy! I’m so sorry that your recovery and surgery were so wonky. Sometimes it takes a catastrophe for us to realize we DO need to make our own health a priority.

Do you give yourself personal time every day for exercise, even if it’s mild?

Nancy, you can’t take care of your husband and children if you don’t take care of yourself first. It’s next to impossible I know, (I often find myself in the same boat) but the cleaning will wait until after your walk or whatever you choose to do to take time out for you.

Oh Nancy, you sound like me! Except the appendix part. It is stressful, sometimes, trying to take care of the whole world and yourself, too.

I hope you are feeling better and I wish you luck on your goals. I am looking forward to getting to know you better.

Here is a post I wrote on New Year’s Resolutions.

Hi Nancy, Wow you sure have had a lot on your plate! Just know that we are here for you and that it’s time to do something for yourself. When I turned 40, (I’m 41) I had a revelation of sorts, that it was time I worked on me, spent some time with me and didn’t feel guilty about any of it! Forty is good….you’ll see!! :) My motto was FORTY AND FABULOUS!! ;)

Hi Nancy. Hope your feeling better. This is a great group of people. The support is fantastic. I agree with the Love yourself. If you don’t, why should others.
