Not such a great day.

No, today hasn’t been a healthy day.

Teagan has been waking up at about 4am for the past 2 weeks or so and coupled with the nightime breastfeeding (of Savannah - who is teething at the moment), even with Leigh being off from work for christmas holidays and so available to help out, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of energy for exercising. :-(

I had my pedometer on all day today and we were tidying the tip we call our home, didn’t even get halfway through that job BTW and we have a SKY engineer coming on Friday to install SKY for us (its half price for 3 months.) Anyway off point…..my pedometer which I have had on all day while we were tidying it totalling up at just 2605 steps.  That is awful. Are we not supposed to do at least 10,000 steps a day or something?  Food wasn’t great either, I had big ideas of being healthy with my food yesterday but it didn’t work quite to plan.

Today I have had - A 2 egg mushroom, onion and tomato omelette with a little cheese for breakfast.  Also a cup of tea.  For lunch I had homemade carrot and swede soup and a couple of slices of multigrain bread.  Then the damn Xmas cake monster got me again!!! and I also had 4 ferrero rocher chocolates.  For dinner tonight we had roast chikcen breast (using olive oil) with new potatoes and peas/sweetcorn.  i have also had 2 baileys and about 20 grapes.

On the up side I have managed 64 fl oz of water.  Not bad….but not great either.

Tomorrow has to be better! I think my dad (who is still on his christmas holidays) wants to take me and the kids to a local nature park.  He wants to lose a few pounds too and he says the walk around the park is about 3 miles.  I hope its a nice day so we can go!

Don’t be too hard on yourself! You are still breastfeeding too, which will drain your energy and also require more calories than a woman who is not in order to make the milk for the baby. Take it slow, baby steps remember? ((hugs)) chin up! Tomorrow is another day!

Food wise you did pretty derned good. Other than the snackfoods, that all sounds like good choices…and calorie wise you might not have done too badly either. You’re nursing, so you need more calories than the average Jane…

At least it was 2000 something steps. Your food was pretty good. Bailey’s is one of the worst for calories. Which sucks cause it tastes so good. Hang in there, tomorrow will be better.

There is never bad. There is I can do better. If you start thinking I had a bad day or I can’t eat this it’s bad, you’ll end up binging and eating more then you should and that’s not healthy. 4 chocolates (yum) is better then 5. So the thought should be…I only had 4 chocolates today instead of 5.

Hope it’s nice tomorrow for a walk.

I’m with everyone else. Don’t beat yourself up. Celebrate success, learn from challenge, do better tomorrow (or in 5 minutes, if you have to go minute by minute)!

You can do it!

Hi Ivoryfrog — I got your comment from my post that you have a six month old baby, so it’s nice to meet another new(ish) mom! But you’ve got two so your work is really cut out for you.

Your meals sound fine and healthy! And your water intake is good, so at least you have two things going for you in the right direction and while you may not be moving as much as you want to, at least you are trying and you are conscious of it via your pedometer. :good:
