Not such a great day.

No, today hasn’t been a healthy day.

Teagan has been waking up at about 4am for the past 2 weeks or so and coupled with the nightime breastfeeding (of Savannah - who is teething at the moment), even with Leigh being off from work for christmas holidays and so available to help out, it doesn’t leave a whole lot of energy for exercising. :-(

I had my pedometer on all day today and we were tidying the tip we call our home, didn’t even get halfway through that job BTW and we have a SKY engineer coming on Friday to install SKY for us (its half price for 3 months.) Anyway off point…..my pedometer which I have had on all day while we were tidying it totalling up at just 2605 steps.  That is awful. Are we not supposed to do at least 10,000 steps a day or something?  Food wasn’t great either, I had big ideas of being healthy with my food yesterday but it didn’t work quite to plan.

Another Day Gone

Four days into the new way of life. Healthy eating, walking, portion control, water, reaching out to others and increasing activities that get me up and out of the lure of the light of the refrig . I officially join WW tomorrow night but have done all the preliminary work…..getting my head in the game, throwing away items that are “red flag” foods, and stocking up on fruits and vegetables.

Listen people, I always start out really well…..it’s the long haul that does me in.

GROUP CHALLENGE

Grab a notebook, a pen - and write down everything you put into your mouth. Estimate ounces for fluids, calculate calories and account for every single bite in your day.

You don’t have to post your log, but I would like to get everyone to do it for at least one day so you can see if you have problem areas and check in here to at least say you did it.

:)

Leanne : Day 4

Pounds2Go: 43.5, no change from previous P2G

Oops, I ran out of time yesterday! Dang those hours keep going by faster and faster, and I seem to get less and less accomplished.

I finally hit 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday. It took me 51 minutes but I felt GREAT when I finished. My endorphins were all over the place! I was out shopping (spending gift certificates) yesterday afternoon so I did a lot of walking through stores - and I grabbed a slimfast to take along and drank it in the parking lot at Old Navy. haha!

I bought some Grapples, they are so tasty - but awfully dang expensive. They’re about $2 each here, and that’s too much for one single fruit! I was very snacky when we got home and I didn’t eat anything nutritional (beside 1/2 a grapple) but I did keep my calories down.

Mental Notes :

- Eat breakfast. Hungry or not, it is the most important meal of the day. (Note to self: coffee alone does not qualify.) Today breakfast consisted of a can of tuna, a scoop of peanut butter and a giant glass of water.

- Drink lots of water. I’ve already started with two glasses this morning and have made plans for several dates around the water cooler for today.

- Exercise. Today is major house cleaning day. I wish I had one of those step counter things to keep track of how many miles I will walk through the house, on purpose, in order to achieve some exercise goal.

- Have hubby remove dead Christmas tree from the house (today) so that I can pull the treadmill back out of it’s holiday hiding place. I MUST rid myself of the holiday pounds hiding in my hips!

Proud of Me!

I have two habits, one really bad and the other not as bad, but not good either. The first really bad one is that at about midnight every night, I go down to the kitchen and get a spoon and the peanut butter and I dip the spoon in and pull it out and eat what is on the spoon. I do this a couple of times. I know, I know! I am a peanut butter addict! The other thing that I do is that every night I have a can of Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper on my nightstand to drink all night long.

Well, last night, I resisted the urge for peanut butter. One day at a time. Celebrate my success! And I had water on my nightstand instead. Do I rock, or what?

Nice to meet you. Likewise, I’m sure.

Hello, everyone. I go by the SmockLady in this Internet world that exists. Many call me Smock and some SL, but I don’t care as long as it’s nice. I am a wife and a mother to five wonderful, gorgeous, loving, sweet children. I’m struggling with those last few baby weight pounds and becoming older, being in my late 30’s, fooey - being almost 37. Whatever. I have never really had a ‘weight problem’. I’ve always been able to lose the ‘baby weight’. I just have to watch it now that I’m not so young anymore. I noticed just a couple of years ago that it was harder to eat what I wanted to eat. And I don’t like this happening. I’m trying to balance what I know is just some aging and slowing in the natural process of life and fighting it with everything I have.
