Losing the baby weight
Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I was fortunate to learn about this blog site from Running2Ks and this is the best one-stop support group for weight loss for me. I feel that by reading and commenting on your experiences and by sharing mine, it will help me get this weight off.
I have a seven month old baby and I’m still nursing him and would like to continue nursing him til he’s a year old. So as much as I’d like to cut more food out of my life, I cannot. Which is healthier in the long run anyway!
WoW!
ok, I’m amazed at all the support that I feel just from reading all the comments and entries today. I’m facing today with an I can attitude. I’m eating my low-fat yogurt (90 cal) for breakfast instead of the donuts. No Leanne, I didn’t throw them away. They were for my daughter’s sleepover last night. But, I didn’t have one either. Last night I made ribs, snap peas and salad. I ate extra salad and only 2 ribs. I also made a root beer float with diet root beer and only 1 scoop of frozen yogurt so that was a good 90 calorie snack. I hasn’t occurred to me that I could have a metabolism issue or thyroid issue until my commenters (running 2ks and Shelli I think) brought it up. I think I will schedule a physical and ask about it. I need to run and get new tires before I do my walking today, but I will walk my 2 miles. My tip for the day…beware of low fat or no fat foods. Because they will taste yucky with no fat, they add sugar! Those @&*%!
Today….
Today my goals are to exercise and drink water. The great thing is I am drinking a big glass of water right now and I did exercise. Ok I only exercised for 15 minutes but that is more than I normally do so it is a start. I am going to join WW hopefully today and get back on plan. I am so glad the DH moved the treadmill so i can use it again! Have a good day ladies we can do this!
Things about Water
- Water is the biggest dieting secret.
- Water helps you lose and maintain a healthy weight.
- Water has no calories and is a great appetite suppressant.
- Without water intake, you can sabotage your diet.
- Water has no sodium
- water removes harmful toxins from the body.
- Dehydration slows down the body’s metabolism.
- lack of water cause fatigue.
- water plays a role in almost every bodily function!
- Your body does not adapt to lack of water. In fact, it does just the opposite… heats up and slows down, just like a car with an overheated engine.
- Drinking water before, during and after exercise will help regulate your heart rate and bodt temperature.
- We lose about 16 ounces of body fluid for every pound lost during exercise.
HI!
I was so excited when I read about “Pounds2Go” on Leanne’s blog.
I can usually be found at CrazedMom. I don’t talk about my weight issues over there…it’s too depressing.
When did it all start? When I went back to work and then I really packed on the pounds when we bought the store. I used to work out all the time and lost most of the baby weight when I had my son (now 12) and the twins (now 10). With the stress of running of the business my husband and I have let our weight and health go right to hell….
A lack of memory
Sorry…I read some posts and commented on them but I don’t remember who’s they were.
1. Someone (I think Thumper) said you should weigh yourself everyday. I don’t necessarily agree with that. I know if I weigh myself everyday, I would start to get obsessed. I think it has to do with your personality. That said, I weighed myself yesterday, the first day and again today and it was a 2lb difference. This is why I don’t agree with the everyday. I don’t think I lost 2 lbs in one day. Good for me if I did but I am going to stick to Tuesday mornings (and Wednesday afternoons, when WW at work starts) but I am going to go by my scale. It’s the one I started with so I will use that weight. if their is a big difference between the two, I will figure it out then.
A Few Tips I’ve Picked Up Over The Years
Vegetables are your friend–no one ever got fat eating vegetables. They’ll fill you up and help stave off those times when you want to cave into a craving.
Combining a low glycemic carb with a protein helps you feel full faster and not feel hungry between meals.
Drink water–most people don’t drink enough and sometimes mistake hunger for thirst. The average adult should drink about 2 liters a day. Another guideline is .6 ounces per pound of body weight. Any more than that is overkill, and it is possible to drink too much.
Weigh every day–newer studies show that people who weigh themselves every day at roughly the same time are more successful at keeping lost weight off.
Keep a food diary–it helps to see exactly what you’re eating; you can go a step further and write down the times of day you’re eating in order to track patterns and break bad habits.
