Jello Is In The House

I wrote this in my personal blog, but I decided to post it here too because maybe most of you can relate.

Last night we were having a DDR family challenge. It was going well until my husband and I were up against each other. After our 3 rounds, I looked at my kids and they were bunched up together giggling. I asked them what they were laughing about and they said “mommy you look like jello!” I played it off by saying “I love jello” and grabbed them all and started tickling them. It really hurt my feelings, but I didn’t let them know that. They weren’t trying to be mean or anything. That just motivates me more to reach my goal!!!!! I don’t want to be known as Jello Mommy!!

:bawling: I am sorry. Sometimes kids are too honest. Like when my son told me I would look like a beach ball when I put on a wet suit if I didn’t lose weight before we go to Discovery Cove. :bawling:

I know how it feels. Our kids don’t mean to hurt us but they do with their innocence. My son always touches my tummy and says “it’s giggly” and it hurts so freakin bad. But usually my daughter tells him “you and I did this to mommy when we were in her tummy” and then we start laughing.

Big hugs sweety

Sometimes, it’s those innocent comments that spur you on. It’s all about turning lemons into lemonade. :)

Darn those kids. Kidding, it’s the extra push to do something for yourself.

Oh, girl, they’re kids. At least it wasn’t your husband telling you your belly is like a waterbed now. *sigh* You’re not a jello mommy, you’re a mommy who has birthed babies. We’re not movie stars, we’re real people. You’re loved and valued and you’ll be laughing with your kids about this later since it’ll be SO not the new you.

I am so sorry! I hope that the good that comes out of this motivation can help quell the hurt.

Sometimes it takes a little hurt to give us a kick in the pants. :(
