Daily Update: Tues. Jan 10th

So, how am I doing this week? Average would be the best answer. I have stayed within points and yesterday did a great job drinking enough water. But, my son is home sick and I’m not going to the gym today as planned. The treadmill is getting dreadfully boring. So, maybe I can run tonight or something. I need to exercise today, no matter what !

I was talking to another friend of mine who is doing WW. I think we agree the most exhausting part of it is thinkingo ut and preparing your meals in advance.

It is really time consuming to prepare meals. I totally agree. I just printed out a week long menu from that Discovery Health program, viewing the whole week at a glance I’m repeating a lot of the same things throughout the week so that I don’t have to have the worlds largest grocery list (and bill!) every week. So I’ll pick 4-5 meals that I know I can stick with, and make a bunch, and store it in individual serving sizes for each meal. I did that on Sunday for Monday, and it was so nice to just reach into the fridge and grab the “lunch” container!

Good job sticking with it - don’t get discouraged - how and when to nourish your body is something they don’t teach in school - and takes time to learn! :)

You know, I have always said that. It seems like you always have to think about food and that is tiresome but the alternatives of not thinking about it are not good either. So.. I guess we just have to accept that we will always have to think about it and reap the benefits. I don’t really mind cooking part as long as I have a plan but if I’m tired and dont want to cook, I better have something around to throw in teh microwave or I will head for fast food.

Hope your son is feeling better. Too bad all of us who have trouble getting in teh exercise didn’t live close by and we could all do it together as a group. I may try to find a walking partner or something.

It took me a half hour today to figure out exactly what I would have for lunch and the points for it. BTW it was 10.5 points but it was gooood! ;)

I agree, too. I don’t know if you have heard the WW saying or not, but remember this “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail!”

If you decide to do weight watchers online, they actually provide you a really great tool to helping you figure out “what’s to eat for dinner/lunch/etc” you click on the meal and it provides all sorts of suggestins and alternatives, as well as grocery shopping lists and recipes.

One thing that might make it easier? Take one hour in your entire week and try to give yourself a list of menus to pick from. That will help you already be prepared, but still add a bit of surprise. :)

That’s the one thing I hate doing. I hate food shopping as it is, so planning really sucks. What I started doing (my thing for today) is writing down a list. If I decide I have an urge for chicken, goes on the list, salad, goes on the list. Then when I make a shopping list, I can get ideas,
Ohh chicken, need brocolli to go with that
(that’s a meal)
ohh salad, maybe some shrimp to throw in
(that’s a meal) right there I have at least 4 meals dinner and lunch for both

That way you don’t get bored and can be a little more creative.

And now that I just put that here, it’s going on apost as well, since that’s what I planned on posting. My new thing for the day.

Varying exercises usually helps–so is anything you can do with a buddy. Keep it up!
