Great exercise day

Yesterday I had the best exercise day: I went for a vigorous bike ride for 1/2 an hour while baby Aidan had his afternoon nap (that’s a luxury I get with a work-at-home husband). You can go a surprisingly long distance in a half hour! I have decided to start doing this whenever the weather is good. Bike riding works different muscles than my walking muscles and it really gets my heart rate up! In addition, once Aidan woke up, we also went on a walk. Of course today is supposed to be rainy, so it will be a yoga day. Now I have three forms of exercise for variety.

Many cable TV shows are also focusing on diet and exercise, being it’s January, and time for New Year’s resolutions, so watching these shows have been inspiring too. I feel so good today! And while I don’t know if I lost any weight, at least I feel healthy. At least I know I’m doing all that’s possible for my health and what my body will do, it will do, even if I have to wait til weaning time for weight loss.

You are doing great, Amy! I wish it were nice here so that I could bike ride. Guess I will have to stick to the gym. I miss summer sometimes even though I love winter here in MN.

Now see, I’m glad you mentjuoned your husband was at home, ’cause my first thought was, “What if the baby had woken up?” And then I thought, “Well, maybe the baby was in a bike seat-cradle-thingy but asleep.” And then I thought “Sheesh, your brain contemplates the dumbest things.”

A bike rides sounds awesome right now. If I could get to mine behind the ile of clutter in the garage, I might contemplate that instead!

I love riding my bike all over the neighborhood when it’s warm – alas, cold has settled over us in Maryland (even with the few unseasonably cool (not cold) days, it’s brr cold).

C’mon warmer weather!

When your son is big enough, you need to get a bike trailer. My daughter is almost 2 and loves to ride in it. I ride with my son to his school with daughter in the trailer. She feels like she gets to see the big kids’ school that way, my son is elated to get to ride his bike, and I get exercise twice a day in addition to my workouts!

Great job trying to incorporate new ways to exercise!
