TGIF

I walked 10 miles this week.  TEN.  I still have to pinch myself, because I can’t believe I did it.

Of course by last night, my FMS was flaring and I was DOG.  TIRED.  Plus I have a pinched nerve in my pinky toe, and since I have about 150 miles on these shoes, it looks like a trip to the shoe store is in my future.  But today it was better (yay for cushy organic hemp socks LOL).  I did crash for a nap today too.

The scale is still only showing -3 change, no matter how hard I flogged that scale to try to get it to submit to my will (oh come on, you *know* you’ve done that too ;) ).  But I can feel subtle changes here and there.  Still fluffy, just an eensy bit less than I was last week.

I tell you, joining this group, and all the support I’ve received here, has made a difference.  I feel so renewed, and though it was hard to get through my workouts for the past 2 days, I’m more determined than ever.

I was a bit bummed at one point to realize the little elderly woman next to me was walking faster than I was (even though I worked out longer overall).  But bless her heart, she stopped me in the locker room, told me to keep up the good work, and gave me a huge hug.  AWWW!  The gym staff has been giving me encouragement every day, so I’m tired, and I hurt, but loving the warm fuzzies.

You all SO ROCK MY WORLD.  I can’t tell you how much it means to read your supportive words.  My energy and pain levels prevent me from responding and commenting as much as I’d like to, but please know that I am cheering for each and every one of you.

I’m just glad it’s Friday, and I get to take a little break from the gym, so I can go back on Monday, all refreshed.  But I hope to give a new workout DVD a try this weekend–a blogging friend gave me The Biggest Loser Workout, it looks fun (and I lurve the show).

Quick Tips

I just thought of a couple of small things I’ve been doing that have helped.  One is to use a smaller plate…an 8″ salad plate instead of the usual 10″ dinner plate.  It’s a psychological thing, I’m sure–you actually eat less, but feel just as satisfied.  The other thing…if you have trouble getting all your water in, try buying a special glass–a Dollar Store usually has a good variety of glass tumblers, and sometimes the acrylic or plastic ones are even better.  They come in all kinds of funky colors and patterns.  I’ve found that having a glass that’s fun/pretty/whatever that’s just for water sometimes makes it more palatable. :)   Your mileage may vary, of course, but these are a couple of quickies that I find helpful.

Still here!

It’s Day 5 and we’re still rocking along. The Simon and Garfunkel chicken was pretty good, and I don’t even like chicken!

Still eating on plan, just sitting down with a big glass of water to see how everyone else is doing!

2nd Post, I know

I know this is the second post today, but I just have to tell you all this or I will burst and water will go gushing out all over the place!  I drank 83 ounces of water today!  So far.  No diet soda yet, but I think I will when we watch a movie and have light popcorn.  But this is amazing for me since I normally have anywhere between 2 and 6 cans of diet pop per day and I haven’t had ANY in almost 48 hours!!  That total is just water and doesn’t include the coffee I had or the milk that I had with my cereal.  So I probably had more than 100 oz of fluid today!

And, AND I did 60 minutes on the treadmill.  Thanks, Angel, for the inspiration!  I think it was about 2.5 miles, but I am not sure because when I had been on for about 15 minutes, the lady 2 treadmills down from me fell off the treadmill and I pushed my stop button to get down and help her.  She was okay, if not a little embarrassed.  Seeing as I had my own fall earlier this week, I felt really bad for her.  She fell right in front of her very thin, teenaged daughter and a very HOT guy.  Looking back, it was pretty funny, but scared the hell out of me at the time.

So wish me luck at the scale tomorrow.  But even if there is no loss, I will try to stay positive and keep the good feeling that I am having now about the water and the exercise!

Weighing In: Raehan

Hi all. I’m sorry I haven’t been here for a while. I’ve had a good week. The problem is I’ve been PMSing big time and I have trouble focusing enough to surf and comment when I’m like this.

The good news is I lost three pounds in week. Yoga has been awesome. I went four times to classes. I found it also makes you eat healthier.

I will be back in full force to comment when PMS is gone. Hopefully soon.

And Leanne, I hope I did the category right.

Just happy

I love this site.  I really do.  I love the support and the knowing I’m not alone.  Reading about everyone and the start of the weight loss, the joy of the first couple of pounds, the frustration of staying the same, the agony of gaining.  And knowing that everyone is going through the same thing, having the same feelings I am.   I just like the feeling.

Ok, enough of the sappiness.  I left my WW stuff in my car.  And I put my pj’s on.  The problem.   I don’t remember how  many points I have left and I am very hungry.   Anyone want to go to my car for me.  Thanks.  that’s great.

So, today was a great day (can you tell from the happiness) I had a good breakfast.  WW has yogurt shakes, 1 point (says the bottle, my point finder says 2, but I am going by the bottle, it’s WW approved for 1 point) anyway, I had that for breakfast and it was really good.  Not super filling but did the job.   Ya know,  stopped the grumblies (sp?)  and for a snack, some apple crisps (which were nasty by the way, but got the job done for needing to chew something.)  For lunch  leftover tuna/pasta.  Yes it’s a ww recipe, maybe a card, this was in a book I got last time I joined.      And some string cheese.  Obviously no dinner yet.    Since I am not going to my car.  Does that mean I get extra points tomorrow.   I am going to this great pizza place in Philly and they have this amazing polenta bread.    I know that I can’t but I still have an extra 35 points to play with.  I will behave and be careful.  We are doing a lot of walking also.  Activity points  Woo-hoo.  !!!!

Sorry I am in a really good mood

So, for something really hysterical, check this out My favorite, the celery log.   This just cracks me up.

Rockin’ Walkin Tunes

Once in a while, we need fresh tunes on our iPods, MP3 and CD Players while we’re working out.
