Hi! I’m new. This is my “jikoshoukai” (Japanese word meaning: Self introduction) I’m a friend of Shelli’s (in real life). I’m losing the baby weight at last (my oldest baby is almost 5, so it’s time..) And this is my first time dieting. Ever.
In brief: I’m a mom of 3 (one is a step-daughter), work fulltime (and then some) outside the home, am bilingual Japanese/English, am originally from Ohio (born Buckeye), and I like crafty things – mainly quilting. I dread exercise, and LOVE to eat.
It’s taken me a long time to psyche myself up to get serious about losing the weight (I have about 40 – 50lbs to lose) – but now, I take my membership in P2G as another sign of how very serious I am getting about it. Here’s my quick top 5 reasons how I know I’m serious:
1. I finally let Shelli convince me to go to a WW meeting – and signed up on the spot.
2. I enrolled in WW ETools – and prepaid the 3 month subscription. (And so that you know, it’s hard for me to part with that sort of money – so that’s $30 worth of quilting fabric I can’t have now.)
3. I now correct my kids when they call Mommy fat.. I used to say: “Yep. Mommy is fat.” ..and leave it at that. Now I say: “Mommy is chosing to eat better foods and exercise and we’re ALL eating healthier.”
4. My freezer is filled with Lean Cuisine and WW meals instead of Quiches, Fridays Appetizers.
5. My husband is now committed to losing weight along with me – out of fear of me getting “Too skinny and cute” for him.
