Good Omen?

Just had to share this…I stumbled across my horoscope while checking Yahoo mail and though I don’t usually put much store in such things, this was kind of neat:

For the next few weeks, you’re going to shock and amaze the masses — not to mention the folks you see on a regular basis. You might also end up looking in the mirror and wondering who that is. Don’t fight it. Everybody gets to try on a different personality for a while every now and then. It’s your turn. You’re going to be struck with a heady dose of fire. Put it to good use.

I hope they’re right!



Not Much Here

I have been doing okay. Drinking water (probably need more). Eating mostly on plan until in-laws had 40th Wedding Anniversary at Olive Garden tonight, but one meal isn’t going to kill me. Using Sparkle People, which rocks! Gym night tomorrow night. I have to work off the OG food! That’s about it.



8 Pounds!

I am down 8 pounds in one week! Let me explain first that this loss is almost entirely water, as I was very swollen before I started, but HEY, I’ll take it! I expect next week’s weigh in to be much more modest.

 Eating on plan today, a little behind on water because I was out running around a lot, but I’m catching up as we speak!

Who’d ever think someone would be grateful for marathon peeing…? But I had breaktrhough on my DDAVP 2 nights running and shed the 4 pounds of Evil that crept onto me, and possibly half a pound more. That might be water, might be body fat; I won’t know until it sticks around.

Of course, I promised the guys pizza tonight. I’ll stick to the skinny crust cheese and track the calories in my overall count for the day, but sometimes I think just the idea of  things like pizza staples gobs of fat to my hips and thighs.

It really is amazing how different just 4 pounds can make you feel.  I can’t imagine packing back on the 22 I lost…and can’t imagine how much better it’ll feel when I get to goal.

What I did instead

of boredom eating, (which I couldn’t do because I have no food);

First, I ate lettuce., cruchy, so the mouth is moving.   It’s food and it’s healthy, (ok, it was 2 heads of Romaine, that’s ok right)

Second,  I worked out.   YES I DID SO,  A friend of mine gave me a dvd awhile ago  Cardio Striptease and I decided to finally check it out.   It was fun.  I squated like a stripper and pretended to take my shirt off.   I didn’t realize that a guy taught it, since I have a copy, but it was really fun and REALLY EASY.  No difficult steps or anything like that.  Just some very easy moving and dancing.   Lots of hip action.

Third -  I moved away from the kitchen.   If I can’t see the kitchen, I won’t keep looking.  It’s purely psychological but it works for me.  Out of sight and out of mind.   Now, I weigh in on Wednesday, I will let you know if it worked.  I hope so.



Monday Weigh In

I weighed in and I am 3 pounds lighter. That’s 7 total! I made it through the Memorial Service and reception with just a small taste of a whoopie pie. Then I came home and made myself a great salad for dinner with tuna and some cheese and kalamata olives! Yum!

I got up this morning not feeling like exercising at all, but climbed on the stationary bike and put in my time. I feel better about myself now.



Hi everyone. Introducing myself..

Hi! I’m new. This is my “jikoshoukai” (Japanese word meaning: Self introduction) I’m a friend of Shelli’s (in real life). I’m losing the baby weight at last (my oldest baby is almost 5, so it’s time..) And this is my first time dieting. Ever.

In brief: I’m a mom of 3 (one is a step-daughter), work fulltime (and then some) outside the home, am bilingual Japanese/English, am originally from Ohio (born Buckeye), and I like crafty things - mainly quilting. I dread exercise, and LOVE to eat.

It’s taken me a long time to psyche myself up to get serious about losing the weight (I have about 40 - 50lbs to lose) - but now, I take my membership in P2G as another sign of how very serious I am getting about it. Here’s my quick top 5 reasons how I know I’m serious:
