So. This afternoon I have a hankering for something sweet (told you I was on a sugar binge…which I usually don’t crave). I figured I’d bake something. Let’s see. ::tapping chin:: I took a quick inventory of what I had on hand and decided that something with blueberries would be good, but not muffins. Cookies! That’s it…blueberry cookies, if I could find a recipe. And I did. I mean, how many calories could blueberry cookies have in them? And blueberries are GOOD for you! Well! I cut the recipe down so that I only got about 6 good sized cookies. After I’d eaten two of them with coffee, I decide to figure out exactly how many calories I’d have to [willingly] give up for them. By my calculations, looking up the calorie content for all the ingredients, EACH cookie would be 160 calories! :jawdrop: Argghhh! Well, that’ll teach me, won’t it? S-I-G-H. But, I did write them down as a snack and spent 300 calories of my daily 1200. Waaaaah!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…you did it. If you didn’t eat them, you would be craving and that’s never good. 300 calories is nothing. You stopped at 2. GO YOU.

Ah the best laid plans…but you did PLAN and you showed SELF-CONTROL–and those are very good things!
8:32 pm
Did you break the cookies in half and shake them? ‘Cause that gets rid of, like, 100-200 calories each…
300 calories isn’t that bad, for a one time treat. Freeze the rest for some other days when you have a need for something treat-like.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle… um, yeah…I think that’s how the PSA quote goes..
10:38 pm
Good for you. I would have said, “Oops! Guess I won’t do that again.” And then I wouldn’t have written it down. I am proud of you for counting it!
11:20 pm
You did it just right! Good for you!
12:15 am
you are indeed a brave woman for stopping at just 2. lol!! i would have wolfed them down & credited it to points over various days. lol!! (i was notorious for that…)

Keep in mind that calories are NOT the only factor. You should also consider the fat and fiber content you’re consuming.
I found a fat-free blueberry muffin mix and while it does have 130 calories per muffin, it’s fat free and there is fiber in there - which made each big fat muffin only 2 of my weight watcher points! That’s outstanding in comparison to say… oh, Otis Spunkmeyer or someone (which is about 12!!!).
Hang in there! Just being aware is a great way to keep at it.
