That D@mn Krispy Kreme is calling my name!

Yes it is! I can hear it loud and clear!

I’m resisting, but MAN I didn’t know doughnuts were trained in the art of persuasion…

Still on plan, hanging on, hanging on…

Trying hard not to beat myself up..

..for jumping with both feet off the wagon last night. :duh:

I know just where I went wrong – we had missed dinner running around, everyone was starved (esp. me!) and hubby gave me a small geographic area in our town to pick a restaurant from – because it was near where we needed to pick up our eldest child.

My choices were: Bennigans, Noodles & Co. and IHOP. The only location all 3 of my kids can agree on is IHOP. I chose to go there because I didn’t want to hear whining or hear: “Well I’m not eating then!”.

I considered the Spinach salad they have. I’ve had it there before and it wasn’t very good. I looked at the onion rings. Then I had to wipe a little drool off the plastic menu… When the waitress came to take our order I said: “Ah, the heck with the diet…” and ordered a fried fish sandwich with a side of onion rings.

Maybe I’m crazy…but once we got home I actually tried to go online to get the nutrional info (in order to calculate the points) for that meal. Ha! IHOP doesn’t do that. You can go to their site and they say it there: “IHOP does not maintain nutrional information for the foods that we serve.” Not too surprising considering the caloric content I suppose.

I looked a few other places, like Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone and some other good nutrional info. sites –and one had many of the entrees from IHOP listed, but not mine. Probably because no one who actually CARED about the caloric content of their meal would actually choose the meal I did.

Thank goodness today is a new day. I’m back on the program. I messed up with that greasy meal last night.. but I’m to forget that one blip in all my progress. I’ve done so good keeping within my daily points allowance but for that slip up! I know I can’t blame anyone but myself. Interesting that the WW sermons I’ve been hearing do come back to mind now. (Shelli : It’s Randy’s comment about how no one put that “funnel in your mouth” that keeps coming back to me).

I’m back on the program. Even trying to fit in time for extra exercise today.

Catching Up

Good morning everybody! I briefly went through posts as I have not been on here in a few days.  You are all doing so wonderful, I can’t believe all the weight lost already.  We ought to add it all up in a group total or something.  That is so encouraging.  I have been out of town so I haven’t posted but I am doing well.  I did go to the Olive Garden last Thursday and did pretty good.  I had salad and 3 stuffed pasta shells and NO appetizers or CAKE!  Just my dinner and I only drank 1/2 my 1 glass of wine.  I ate lightly all day and I added up the points when I got home and I think it was still within my plan.  I stayed on track all weekend and kept track of everything and I think I was actually under a couple of points on a day or two.  I even had a piece of X-mas fudge (3 points for a piece that is 1″ x 2″.  It was worth every point.  The only thing is I didn’t drink as much water as I normally do but I did drink.  I even went for a 1/2 hour walk.  It was so cold but it felt good.  I have my weigh in tomorrow evening so hopefully there will be a loss.  My first week is always a larger loss and then it slows down a lot.  The only thing I think I could do better is slightly less carbs and a little more protein in some way, even though I am within my point range and of course more exercise, but I am working on it.   I promised myself a 1/2 hour walk today so I will do that and it is a good start.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS AND A BIG  TO ALL YOU LOSERS!!!!!! KEEP IT UP!! Congrats to all who are making good changes as well!! And last but not least, thanks for the motivation from all of you ladies.

My First Week is a Success!

My first week was a success! I lost 7 pounds!!:yahoo: I guess a 1/2 mile a day (to start out) on my recumbant bike and 60 ounces of water (that is ALOT for me I am not a water drinker) was well worth it! So that I don’t get discouraged, I have decided to work on a mini-goal for now. My mini-goal is 50 pounds by July when I go to our Family Reunion. Hang in there everyone. It is well worth it!

After 1 week

I was very happy to get on the scale today & see that I’d dropped 5 pounds my first week! I’m pretty sure that’s just my holiday weight gain, but I’m glad to see it go. Now the hard work begins… getting rid of the rest that’s been hanging on too long.
