Update

Okay, I weighed myself this morning and I am down 2 lbs despite Aunt Flo’s visit this past weekend when I totally blew it.  How did that happen??  Well, I’m not complaining.  I actually like what I see, but I was a bit surprised.  I was expecting to go up a few.

I’m off to read how everyone else is doing.  Don’t you just love this place?!?  I love all the stuff on the sidebar…….tons and tons of cool links!!!!  Can’t thank Leanne enough for starting this site!!!

I did it! I met my b-day goal, 4 days late – but I did it!

I am really learning a lot about foods and how my body uses and processes the nutrients from what I eat. I did join sparkpeople.com, I entered my target weight and target date, and when it gave me the recommended daily calories, fiber, carbs, fat & protein, I entered it into my Calorie King desktop diary. From there I can select from a huge (HUGE) database of foods, drag and drop them to see how they contribute to my plan for the day. I’m making a lot better selections because of it – so I can see making this a permanent lifestyle change. I’m eating more frequently, because I have to get “x” amount of protein and carbs – I’m not eating any artificial stuff at all – carbs come from whole grains like raisin bran, plain brown rice and also from fruits like grapefruit juice and fruit harvest applesauce (no sugars added). Proteins are coming from eggbeaters, boneless skinless chicken breast, small portions of low-sodium tuna with fat free mayo mixed in, lean pork loin chops on the broiler, and turkey (diced deli meat on salad with no dressing is a mid morning habit for me now!). Of course I’m throwing in a good cup or two of steamed mixed veggies every day as well! Fibers are so important too – they process everything else and move the waste, keeping your system efficient – so I eat a bowl of raisin bran with skim milk before bed.

I’m keeping my calories down to 1200 or below a day, and I’m exercising half that – 600 calories worth of exercise. That’s 45 minutes on the treadmill and 24 minutes of weightless exercises (abs, arms, legs), 30 on the treadmill and 30 in the pool, or an hour in the pool. I pick from one of those three and rotate them daily.

Best of all – I feel it in my clothes. I see it in the mirror. I have way more energy, and all I want to do all day is dance around the house!

33 Pounds2Go!!!

Hard

I don’t know why I am having such a hard time this week. I am trying to keep up with the will power but it is waining. I want the end result which is to be skinny but sometimes it seems like it will never happen. I was good and am on plan today but yesterday I fell off the wagon for birthday cake. Got back on for dinner though. Ugh it is a rollercoaster for sure!

The weigh in went

pretty damn well.  I lost 3.4 lbs in the first week.  The group leader is still to perky for me, but the group helps.  She’s good at getting people involved in the lecture.  Asking and answering questions, so it’s not as bad as it could be.

So I am not restarting this week but continuing.   I am going to write everything down and drink the water and try to get some excersing in, so we will see.
