I suspect that my weigh-in tomorrow will not go very well. I have had a really long week of being couped up at my house. The end of last week, my son was sick. Then, mid-week this week we had painters come and I’ve been unable to get to the gym. Add to that, being at my house unable to leave and bored, I have nibbled and snacked too much this week. I have been at the top of my Weight Watchers points every day, some days going over.
Still, I have to give myself props today. Last night, I managed to meet friends at a favorite Mexican food spot and I did NOT get the margarita (my favorite drink, but it is 11 points!) and did NOT eat queso. I ordered a grilled chicken taco a-la-carte and had a bowl of charo beans and some chips and salsa. I could have done without the chips, but just leaving off the fajitas and the margaritas was enough for me that night.
Now, the reality…even with that, I think I’ve put on a pound this week. I went for a long run this morning, hoping to offset the gain. I started feeling pain in my back/back side of my hip at the end and it is still hurting now.
If anyone knows anything about running injuries to the hip/lower back area, let me know if this is something I should be concerned about. I really can’t handle a sports injury setback right now. I will probably switch and do more aerobics and weight training in the days to come to give my body a break just in case.
Tomorrow morning is the weigh-in. Wish me luck–I’m pretty sure I need it!

You don’t need luck - you got skilz.
I am reluctant to give out advice on medical injuries/ailments though - I’d try to take it easy (no running) to see if it’s just a strained muscle and if there’s no relief, seek medical attention. Back injuries are nothing to mess with. Health and safety!

The important thing is you were aware of what you were doing, and you stopped yourself. And now you are back on track. Keep it up!!!!

Good job fighting temptation at the Mexican restaurant, that queso has my number! I hope your back is feeling better soon.

A clarification–a 4 oz margarita is actually 5 points. But, who knows a restaurant that makes them that small? The places I go they are at least 8 oz, so that makes actually 10 points.

I’m sorry you’re feeling pain - it sucks to have to stop because of injuries!
That’s a familiar pain too, I get sharp shooting pains on occasion in that area and there’s a big bundle of nerves there - so you could have pinched a nerve. Sometimes a chrioqwacker can adjust the bone away from the nerve, sometimes it’s just inflammation and some ibuprofin will make the swelling go down around the nerve and release the pinching. It depends on the severity of the pain and your personal discomfort - but definitely take it easy and don’t overextend the area.
Great selections at dinner though, I couldn’t do it - go out to eat and choose something healthy - there’s far too much temptation out there! You done good!
:good:

Good luck. I’m sure you did fine. If you gained, oh well, you enjoyed what you ate and that’s what’s important. If you didn’t do it, you would have regretted it.
Let us know how you did.

Good luck at your weigh-in. You might do better than you think.
I hope your hip and back feel better–sounds like it might be a sciatic nerve thing. If so, try a warm bath and some gentle stretches…then walk rather than run for a few days to see if it improves. An anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen (Advil? Motrin?) (if you can take it and if it doesn’t interfere with any other meds you take) might be helpful.

Good luck. It is weigh in time for me, too!
