Saturday Check-In

I hope everyone’s having a good weekend.  Weekends have always been a challenge for me as our meals are usually more irregular, or we’re on the go.  But it’s been a good day.  We had a late, light breakfast and will then eat supper in an hour or so.  I found a dish I’m going to try with a small amount of potato, ground beef, baked beans [canned] and tomato sauce — I’ll let you know how it turns out and what the values are.

I’ve had almost all my water quota already, but I really need to step up to the plate and get serious about getting some walking in.  It’s like spring here in NS, so there’s really no excuse at the moment.

Have great weekends — you’re all doing wonderfully!  :good:

1st official weight

My friend and I hit the gymn yesterday, so I took the opportunity to step on the scale. And ouch. But I am down 3 lbs from what I thought I was, so the first 5 days have done me well! Today is day 6 of my diet, and I have been doing very well. The hardest things right now are making myself eat protein at every meal, which I am not in the habit of doing (I have eaten quite a lot of soy product this week!), and not cheating when I get home from campus. I am usually a little hungry then, and I have made a point of having the right kinds of snacks around, but when walking from campus to home I invariably pass housed cooking yummy smelling food… But this stricter phase is only two weeks, and having made it this far, I think I can do it! I looked at the menu ideas for the phase two portion of South Beach, and the first breakfast, oatmeal with strawberries (aka Steph in heaven), is becoming this kind of goal for me. 8 more days of being good, and it is mine!

It Will Happen Next Week!

I worked out at the gym this week for a total of 3.5 hours, did almost 5 miles on the treadmill and lifted weights that focused on core and lower body (I am still not supposed to lift with my arm).  I have been watching what I eat and logging it all on SparkPeople.  I have been drinking all my H2O.  So one would think that I would lose this week, right?  NOOO!  I gained.  Only 0.4 of a pound, but still a gain.  I have to say that I do have my period right now.  I know it will show up on the scale next week.  I hope it will show up BIG!!  I am going to keep on keeping on.  So poop on you, scale.  I know I will beat you!  This is my year to shine.  My (WW) leader told me so this morning.  I believe!

You all have a great weekend!

A small loss is STILL a loss!

I am so relieved. I ended up still losing a tiny bit this week, even with retaining water, not exercising as much, and being couped up in my house fighting my snacking demons.

So, I’m at exactly a 5-lb loss in 3 weeks. Not exactly stellar or enough to write home about, but it is still losing and that is what is important. I should be able to make up ground this week by doing the following:

Drinking lots of water

Exercising at least 4 days (even if it is just walking, because of my weird back problems)

No snacking after dinner, unless it is something under 2 points (and I have the points to use!)

Stay the course are my words for this week…stay the course!

Losing…

I weighed in today as I have had one of those weeks. I’ve been very busy, done lot’s of exercise, and been eating like crazy, (all the right things!) Well, I have lost another 4 pounds! This brings my grand total to 11!!! I am feeling so psyched. It isn’t easy, but I plan each meal, and I plan what I am putting into my mouth and when. I also feel like I am eating healthier than I ever have before. So good for ME!!!:yahoo:

AAArrI rggghhh!

I have made Thursday my offical weigh in day.  I was done another 1.5.  The total to date, since the surgeries, is 16.5 pounds lost.  I have 43 Pounds2Go.  My pants are loose and that is great.  The problem:  Thursday and Friday were incredibly stressful.  My eating and h20 consumption sucked.  I did not exercise.  Basically, my head was out of the game.  At least, I did it at the beginning of my week.  I am thinking I have to find a way to get rid of the stress.  Let’s face it, stress of one form or another is always going to be around.  I get overwhelmed and exhausted and any rational thought is out the window.

Today, I am tired.  I am going to do a long cardio session and then stretch/yoga for awhile.  We are having dinner at friends house.  (Note to self:  Limit alcohol, eat the seafood, no dessert.)  And, we are having friends over for dinner tomorrow (note:  Same rules apply).

I would be interested to know if you have found ways to deal w. your stress that don;t involve chips, cookies, cake or margarita’s.  What is your secret weapon?

I love the SuperHero posts.

I Did It

I came through on my promise! I told you that I would work out on Thursday and Friday night. You know what I did on Thursday and why, and today I have GeekyMama to thank for dragging my butt to the gym.

I did both resistance (weight lifting) and cardio. I walked on the treadmill, inspite of several blisters on my feet (I need some new shoes!), for 30 minutes for a total 1-1/2 miles! Yeah me. Drank my water and ate well today, too! I hope it all shows up on the scale tomorrow! Wish me luck!
