Slipped and Almost Fell!

Grrr. Old habits die hard, I guess. I nearly went on an empty-the-cupboards eating frenzy this evening. But instead, I came here. And that’s a good thing, of course. But I get so angry and disappointed in myself. I do so well for a few days … a week, and then those old habits creep right back in again! It’s ridiculous! And I figure at this rate, it’ll take me about 12 years to lose those 64 pounds … and I want it gone NOW! :bawling: Did I mention that I’m very impatient?

I’m “peri-menopausal”, according to my doctor, (I’ll be 51 in March) and I must have had an estrogen burst today or something, because this feels just like PMS. Perpetually Masticating Syndrome!!

Ah well, I guess the good thing is that I came here to confess rather than give into the temptation. It’s a bit like quitting smoking in that the craving has pretty much passed. What’s left, a glass of water should handle. Other than that, I had a pretty good day.

Thanks for listening! You all rock! And what about that total of pounds lost?!! We’re the biggest bunch of losers I know! :yahoo:

Man I hear you - I am keeping my bad tempty foods around because I’m more proud of myself that they’ve been there since CHRISTMAS and I haven’t eaten ANY! YEAH! It’s really freakin hard walking past them sometimes. You did it, you didn’t eat everything. That is an accomplishment - be proud of yourself!!

I say let’s empty our cabinets - take canned & boxed stuff down to the local school to donate to needy families, and get the temptation OUT of the house. I think I’ll do that tomorrow!!!

I’m all for that, Leanne! One of the first things Dr. Phil lays out in his book is creating a fail-proof environment … getting temptation out of your way. Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I can so relate to that. Sometimes, if I can’t find something sweet and creamy, I get really crabby. That is when I eat an entire jar of peanut butter. Oh did I say that out loud. I mean I think about eating a whole jar of peanut butter. Then when that feeling passes after a few weeks, I feel better for awhile, until the PMS starts again. :duh:

Oops forgot to close tags. I meant to only italicize “think about”. The rest in regular font. Thanks.

Good for you in beating the craving. That’s my hardest fight I sometimes, especially under the influence of hormones!

Perpetually Masticating Syndrom eh? Yeah I’ve been suffering from that for years.

PMS–funny. I’m sorry it was such a rough time–but you are totally on-track. I know you can do this!
