You Need This!

Why do you need this? It has the MOST fiber I’ve seen on any cereal package and it. tastes. awesome. Natural carbs, potassium etc.. this was quite a find for me. I’ve been trying to keep a good balance of fat, carbs, fiber & protein every day and I’ve finally found something that gives me my fiber (25g/day) in two servings.

Here’s some info on why fiber is such an important part of everyone’s diet.

Fiber — particularly soluble fiber — can also lower blood cholesterol levels and slow the absorption of sugar, which for people with diabetes, can help improve blood sugar levels. A high-fiber diet may also reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Eating a high-fiber diet may also help with weight loss. High-fiber foods generally require more chewing time, which gives your body time to register when you’re no longer hungry, so you’re less likely to overeat. Also, a high-fiber diet tends to make a meal feel larger and linger longer, so you stay full for a greater amount of time. And high-fiber diets tend to be less “energy dense,” which means they have fewer calories for the same volume of food.

General Mills Fiber One Honey Clusters.

Add that cereal to your grocery list, right next to a gallon of skim milk!

Thanks Leanne. Why is it though, that the foods that are the best for you (especially cereal) come in the smallest boxes and cost the most!? :winking:

Thanks for the info, Leanne. And Shelli, that seems to be the way it is with most healthy food — the more you should have it, the more expensive it’s likely to be! :indifferent:

This is actually about the size of a regular box of cheerios (not the huge ones, not the teenie ones) - and it’s about $3 a box around these parts. Cereal is expensive anyway - but I was surprised to find out that this is no more expensive than say frosted mini-wheats, which only have 4-5g of fiber.

Since I’ve changed everything in our diets, I’ve found that I need less of things since my portions are smaller. I’m buying too much because my mind isn’t used to that yet!

:D

Thanks for the tip, Leanne. I’ll have to try that. It definitely looks better than fiber one and all of those other fibery cereals.

I’ll look at it and compare the nutrition. I’m always looking for a good honey cluster cereal. I love my Honey Nut Clusters but they have too much fat and calories. :(

I’m rather addicted to Flax & Fiber cereal myself :)

Tastes awesome? Then I’ll try it! I’ve seen it but I figured it would be like munching on cardboard. I know* the Spouse Thingy will like it…
