Not this week

So, I’m feeling a little disappointed. I did not lose anything this week. I stayed the same. I didn’t do anything different. But it all stopped. At least for this week.

I’m not feeling very well either. Very sluggish. Like I can’t go another mile. I’m glad my annual physical is on Tuesday. I think I’ll probably go in there and just cry all over my doctor.

Yes, losing weight is not easy, is it?

Not easy at all.

 Maribeth, but you are obviously doing something right to even have stayed the same. Stay on track — you’ll make up for it this coming week. Plateaus suck.

Hon, it is NOT easy. It’s a lot of work, that’s for sure. Don’t let one week of plateu get you down. You are still working hard and you get credit for that.

Here’s to a better week this week.

Having to lose weight really, really sucks, but it is something good only we can do, unfortunately. I’ve beat myself up my whole life over it and I am not going to do that anymore. Plateaus are so discouraging but it too will pass. Change something during the week, I’m told and it will help. They say when you hit plateaus the body is used to all the stuff you have been doing I guess, and so we need to shock it a little. Hang in there Maribeth, your doing fabulous.

Hugs to you, and hang in there. The plateaus are a pain, but you will pull through! :grouphug:

I agree with Sue - change something, even if it isn’t drastic. And hang in there!

Sometimes keeping everything the same is actually a bad thing. You’re doing great, you’ve had a loss, and now your body is saying “okay, I’ll just use this here, it’s all regulated and I know what I’m getting every day”. Give yourself a little variety, go under one day, slightly over the next day. Always stay low fat, low simple carbs.

Here’s a little example, have a baked potato for lunch on Monday (fat free sour cream and I can’t believe it’s not butter, some chives to spice it up) - on Tuesday have a grilled chicken salad. Little variations like that keep your metabolism going strong. :)

Hang in there! I hope you get a good report from the doc, I bet if you tell him you’re feeling sluggish he’ll check your thyroid, they seem to be a source of grief for a lot of people!

Nope! Sometimes it just downright sucks! But, were here and we will be when you need us! :grouphug:
