Weigh In – End of Week 2

I stepped on the scales this morning, and I’m down a mere 1.5 lbs. :p I really had hoped for a bigger loss than that, but I know what mistakes I made (intentional and otherwise!) and 1.5 it is! (My ‘Wal-Mart special’ digital scales only give pound and half pound readings.) It just makes me more determined to have a bigger loss this coming week.

Last night, hubby reminded me that I have a stair-climber (hydraulic thingy) in the back of our bedroom closet! :duh: That thing is great for the legs and buns! So I dragged that out and dusted it off, then wrote out a workable plan using that, the exercise ball and resistance bands. I’m going to do that routine on Mon-Wed-Fri and do my yoga tape in between. So I’m hoping that will help. At least until walking is more attractive again.

Things I’ve learned/changes I’ve made for this week? Hmm…

1. chocolate chip cookies have waaay more calories than I thought…
2. that I still need to work on reducing the refined carbs in my diet…
3. that I actually LIKE drinking water and have been drinking between 80-96 oz/day consistently…
4. that we’re still not eating in front of the TV!…
5. that I need to plan more food earlier in the day and have smaller supper meals…
6. that I need to clean out my closet!

And so starts my Week #3.

I feel your pain, Nancy… 1lb a week isn’t making me happy either.

Thanks, Jane. But you know, it took nearly 30 years for my excess poundage to creep on (with a few years of ‘slim’ in between) so I guess one can’t expect it to fall off overnight … much as I’d like it to! :) It’s hard work!

hehe.. I’m right there wiht ya on the chocolate chip cookie lesson. Holy Moley. And the mister loves ‘em so they’re around. Tough to beat that.

Your list is great. And as a bonus, think of all the calories you burn sorting through the junk in the closet! :-)

Great list, those are huge changes.. I need to work on carbs too. I can totally relate to the cookies. Cookies are my other favorite food group besides tacos. Sounds like your doing wonderful though.

I should check my closets, and under my bed! I have stuff stashed away like that too!
