Day #15
It’s been a good day today. Like most weekends, our meals never seem “regular” — breakfast and lunch are frequently combined and supper time varies, depending on what’s going on. But what we ate was right “on program”.
I started using the Stair Stepper last night and did 200 left/right steps on it to start. Man, the burn! Surprisingly, my legs weren’t very sore at all today, and I repeated the 200. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s a good starting place. I also did some ab crunches, so I’m getting there.
I found Leanne’s post on body types very interesting, and my results were bang on. I’ve known for a long time that super-refined carbs are my downfall and it was good to read the suggestions the article offered and to discover the types of protein I should be eating. A great resource! :thanku:
Third Week - Weigh In
I have changed my weigh in day from Tuesdays to Saturdays. So I weighed in today. I have lost 3 more pounds! For a total of 12 pounds!
PTG: 38 by July (total 88)
8 minutes in the morning to a flat belly.
So, I bought the “8 minutes in the morning to a flat belly” book. I’ve read most of it and it’s a lot of common sense stuff [why fat sticks around, emotional eating, etc. etc.].
I didn’t know I’d have to buy a medicine ball [or risk dropping an equivalent weight in the form of a bag of flour - can you just see the mess now?] and a Swiss ball [one of those big blow up air balls] to participate in the plan, but all told it’s not like it’s the cost of a treadmill or other bits of exercise equipment, so I’m okay with that.
I read each of the daily exercises and quite frankly, I’ll be really surprised if I lose 6 inches in 4 weeks as it suggested. They all look really easy [yes, they look easy Jane, but wait till you have to hold that 5lb ball in the air for a full minute *cackle*].
Gotta run
So, I told Mr. Flinger I’m going insane with all this rain and really, REALLY, need to get my arse moving. So we’re working out a deal. He’s working out now and I’ll go run in an hour since the she-child doth not nap. (ever lately, I swear.)
We ended up eating dinner out last night and even though I felt horrible about myself, Mr. Flinger reminded me that I had a crab sandwhich, water, and one french fry. Literally. I didn’t even touch the fries (but I did eat the decorative orange slice.) It’s nice to have someone break into your self depricating thoughts and remind you that you’re really not that bad off - You’re still doing ok - Pick your head up out of your ass and drugde forward.
And y’all, I think that’s what we give to eachother. Hurray and AMEN to that!
What is Your Body Type?
(Some of you have already done this, some of you haven’t. I’ll stick this one up at the top sporadically so everyone new can do it, too. If you’ve already done it, post your Body Type again please? I wiped the comments by mistake. Thanks!)
