What do you recommend for sickness?

It has been quite some time since I have posted, and I apologize! This whole getting fit thing is a lot harder than I was thinking it would be, and that’s only been made worse by the fact that I’m sick! I’ve got a horrible cold, and I’m concerned because I can’t really work out while I’m feeling like this! Also, I can’t think of anything healthy to eat but soup!

So my question to all of you - when you’re sick, how do you maintain a healthy lifestyle?

First of all, I’m sorry to hear you’re sick. Feel better soon! Luckily, I haven’t had to worry about what to eat while sick, especially if you don’t have much of an appetite. Soups are good, as you mentioned. A custard (I put a recipe for a low-cal custard in the recipe section) is also nutritional and easy on the tummy. Failing that, what about a scrambled egg and toast? And sometimes, I think you just have to wait until the bug is out of your system and eat whatever you can manage. Drinking water, if you can stomach it, would also be important while you’re ill. Just my :2cents: Feel better soon!

When you’re sick, listen to your body. You need to rest, and you need to eat what it will allow you to eat (as long as it doesn’t involve a 5 pound bag of sugar and a bottle of hershey’s syrup…)

Soup is good when you’re sick; if that’s all you want, then don’t force yourself into eating something else. Once you feel better, you can start moving and adding solid foods. Again, as long as it doesn’t involve a 5 pound bag of sugar… ;)

Lots of rest, lots of liquids and treat yourself well until you are feeling better and gradually increase your activity when you are feeling better.
