Another Great Day

Awesome.  Awesome.  Awesome!  I had so many endorphins running around inside me after leaving the gym, I think I could have flown home.  I lifted weights and for the first time since injuring my arm when I fell on January 9, I did and was able to do upper body lifting!  All of my weights got bumped up a little.  Then I worked out on the treadmill for 30 minutes.  I felt so awesome!  Seriously.  I think that I am going to have lost a hundred pounds when I weigh in on Saturday.  Okay, maybe not a hundred.  I just feel really good.

“Thindom” – Day #18

It was a good day today; I can’t think of anything that I did horribly wrong.  My water’s back up to 96 oz again and I stayed within my calorie range (which I narrowed considerably…leaving less room to play).  Yay, me! :)

I found this post in Kirstie Alley’s blog to be a really motivating read.  She says, “I didn’t know how much of my life I’d stopped FULLY living – and fully living life is very different than living life halfway.“  Man, I can so relate to that.

Have a read if you get a chance — she has some inspiring posts. :)

I’m back

I have been in a training class in D.C. for a week and a half.    I haven’t been around, in case anyone noticed.

I did a lot of walking.   A LOT.  Walked 1 mile to and from work everyday.  (1/2 mile each way) and walked around after to de-stress. Over the weekend, walked for miles and miles and miles (it seemed like that) around D.C. site-seeing.  I missed a WW meeting but I am going to go tomorrow (if I am awake and  moving, off from work you know) and will see if it worked.

I am starting Nutrisystem on Sunday and am joining the gym, as long as they still have the classes I wanted.

And that, my long missed friends, is my last week  and 1/2.

January Wrap-Up

Thank you for all the support last week when I was having a rough time.  Past experience tells me I’m going to have painful weeks, weeks when the scale won’t budge, but it helps when you have support.  :grouphug:

This has been my best month since I began working out in 2004.  I lost a total of 9 pounds this month, and walked 35 miles.  :bananadance:  That makes a total of 32 pounds lost–just 3 pounds from my first goal!

Leanne brought up an important thing to look at–inches lost.  I mean, 32 pounds is nothing to sneeze at.  But I’ve lost 13 inches from my waist, 11 inches from my hips, and 9 inches from my chest (since 2004).  I’m far from tiny, but I’m getting there ;)

Pounds lost:32 (-9 in 2006)

Pounds2Go:153

It’s been 4 days since I updated, and I’m down 1.5 lbs. That lean muscle burn must be working! I’m still eating the same way – eggbeaters & (real) grapefruit juice for breakfast, sliced turkey & lettuce at lunch, chicken breast or fish for dinner with unlimited veggies – plain brown rice or a baked potato. Snacks have been either high fiber cereal, No-Pudge brownie, or just 3 oz. of plain sliced turkey. Lots of water, of course, around 80-100 oz. I’ve eliminated most of the sodium in my diet, and I’m still rotating between cardio and strength training every day.

Still Cruisin

 I just wanted to check in and say hi.  I have had a pretty good week, not perfect by any means but decent.  I had to go out of town this weekend but I kept track of things and I did okay.  I did eat one meal in a restaurant, Mimi’s, but I chose 1/2 turkey sandwich, a salad and onion soup so it wasn’t too terribly bad, but I didn’t have lunch and had a good breakfast.  I didn’t get in all my water but some.  All in all my choices were 100% better than they used to be when eating out.  We stopped at STarbucks and everyone got something, including a cookie, which I dearly love, but I was not about to have a 750 calorie cookie spoil my efforts and it really didn’t bother me.  I weigh in tomorrow night and have resisted the urge to weigh all week so we will see.  You guys are all doing awesome and it looks like everyone has such a good mindset and such positive attitudes and I’m grateful for that, it helps so much to read all your posts even if I don’t comment every day, I do try to read them every day as possible.   Thanks so much.

Ivoryfrog’s Weightwatchers weigh in….

Hi everyone,

Wow thats another week gone by already and I still didn’t manage to check on here nearly as much as I would like so sorry to everyone! Not sure I would be of much use as support at the moment anyway as I have put on 1lb since last weigh in.   :(

I didn’t do too bad on my points, I don’t think…I have the electronic organiser thing that you type the cals and saturated fat in and it works out the points for you so I thin that would have been quite accurate.  My water intake was OK, not great…I didn’t hit the 100oz but it was up aroud 80oz.  The only thing I can think of is that I have been so utterly exhusted all week.  I have barely got 4 hours sleep a night between Savannah waking for night feeds (shes teething so its partly comfort) and Teagan deciding that 2am is the time all the cool toddlers get up…the fact that Cbeebies doesn’t start till 6am doesn’t seem to have played a factor in her decision.  LOL.  So, basically I have been in bed at 9pm, waking probably about 11 to feed Savannah and then getting up at 2am with Teagan so Leigh can get sleep to go to work. Does lack of sleep effect weight loss?
