ARGH! No Progress

Well, I didn’t lose or gain any weight this week, despite working hard the last half of the week. For those of you doing Weight Watchers, do you use your flex points? I have another friend doing it right now who lost 5pounds last week by actually eating all 35 of her extra flex points. I don’t usually even eat 1/3 of them. I try to keep within my points and may go 1-2 over each day, but never that much.

Have you  noticed a difference if you do consume those extra points? I am afraid I would gain, but I have to shake up something here because I’m really stagnating. I’m starting week 6 at 6.2 pounds loss and, while I know that’s still a pound a week, it is hard. My friend has dropped major weight and I sit in meetings with people who are losing 4-7 pounds a week. Granted, they have  more weight to lose than I do, but I still have 24 pounds left and need to do something here!

Any advice will be much appreciated. I’m also diabetic and am worried about this being some of the issue here.

Weight Lost: 6.2 lbs; P2G: 23.8

I know I haven’t been losing that fast here, but I know I really need to get up and exercise and that is what is holding me back. I also am on WW and I don’t usually consciously use the extra 35 flex points, but I do probably end up using some of them on the date of weigh in because I usually have a treat meal then, so I may actually use about 1/2 of them but I do this right after weigh in and not later in teh week close to another weigh in. I know if I don’t drink my water I do not lose also. Diabetes could very well play a part in this, as that seems to affect a lot of aspects of things. Also, I have examined my food diary and I think I need to cut 1 carb serving a day and add in a little more protein. At our meeting last night, we touched on that and we need to balance our points with carbs maybe being on the lesser side than tooo many. I hope this helps some. These are things that I have realized for myself but I think they would be true for others too or at least some of them.

I hope you have a great week, hang in there.

I forgot to also say that at WW, on their chart, they say I should eat 30 points a day. With my activity level, I would never lose if I did that so I have put myself at 26 points now and that is better and it is really plenty of food. If I need to, I can always up it a little.

Look back at my posts for the last couple weeks. I gained 2 Saturdays in a row. How irritating that is. I use SparkPeople in addition to WW and that really works well. I love it. It is a great online place to log your foods and that is right up your alley. Best part is that it is free!

I do WW too (with Shelli) and I eat most all my flex points. I eat a LOT. I don’t eat my activity points (yet).. but in general, I find myself needing to eat about 25 to 28 points a day to be satisfied (and I’m supposed to only eat 22 a day, not counting my flex points).
So far I haven’t gained - and I tend to lose at least a couple of pounds a week (with one exception where I just stayed “steady” and didn’t lose or gain). I think for 4 weeks of WW I lost a total of like 10lbs.. and that’s eating slightly above my points allowance each day.

I try not to use my flex points. If I do, it’s never more then 5 a week. I try to stay w/in range (26 points). I have to get in gear and start with water again. It’s a pain, but with crystal light added, not bad, I like water, but after a while, it’s so bland.

I hate hitting the plataeu in weight loss. It’s so frustrating. Just hang in there. You may want to talk to your doctor to see if the diabetes is having an effect on the weight loss and to make sure you aren’t having doing anything that would adversely effect it.

When I really followed WW, I used my flex points as needed and lost well. What you have to remember is, some weeks your body isn’t going to want to let go of te weight for whatever reason. Don’t stop going to weight watchers because of it. You’ll lose the momentum. Talk to the WW rep if you are really frustrated.
