One down…..

Today, I hit my first “mini-goal” of 35 pounds (I even lost a pound beyond that LOL)!  I purposely made this first goal the largest (each of the 7 remaining range from 30 down to 15 pounds) because I knew it would be the hardest.  I’m only 15% done with my goal, but I feel like I’m standing on top of the mountain looking down ;)

I’m just amazed that I lost 6 pounds this week.  I can’t help but wonder if something has changed with my FMS flubbed-up metabolism.  I’m sure my body is going to try to hit the brakes next week or so, so I’ll try not to whine about any future plateaus LOL

I’m headed to my parents’ this weekend, so I have to be extra-careful.  As I’ve said before, I don’t diet, but not only are there lots of non-healthy foods there, but it triggers my past-issues concerning food and body image.  But we’re making pizzas and I requested lots of veggies for mine :D



Ouch

I only lost about 1/2 lb this week.  And I was pretty good!  I am very disappointed, and telling myself ‘at least you didn’t gain’ isn’t helping much.  So on the way back from the gymn to my office, I decided to try a few new things this week

1.  Take the stairs.  I usually do this for a few floors, but the six steep flights to my office are hard, especially when I have a laptop and books strapped to my back.  Well, I’m going to do it anyway.  Every day, every time I go from the 6th to the 9th floor, or anywhere.  And back down.

2.  Lift weights.  I have a gymn buddie, but we are both so busy that we can usually only meet twice a week.  On my off days, I’m going to hit the gymn at the apartments, where they don’t have an eliptical (the only cario I like) but they do have a universal weight machine, and I know how to use it.  And muscle tone helps increase your metabolism, right?



Deception in the grocery aisle…

Ok, for all of those Weight Watchers out there…don’t make the mistake I did. I found these yummy looking ham and cheese meals that look like larger hot pockets. The box said 6 points on the outside. It was only when I got home and started heating them up that I realized, there were 2 SERVINGS to a BOX. So, my lunch was just 12 points!  YIKES! Man, it pays to read the fine print, doesn’t it? They were good, but only eating 1 of the two would be the equivalent of eating a half sandwich for lunch. This carb-addicted girl just can’t do that without starving the rest of the day!

 Sue just posted a WW recipe. I’ll dig through mine and post a few more to the recipes section soon too!



Good Recipe from WW

I tried this last night and it was very good, except I had to add a little salt and pepper at the table.  Also, it says 2 cups of rice in the recipe (that means cooked rice, a portion for this recipe is 1/2 cup)  I have another one I got at WW the other night for coleslaw and it is almost 0 points and I will post that later.  The people who have tried it said it was great.

Made It! - Day #21

Whoop-dee-doo. I’m down 1 lb for the week. I had hoped it would be more — don’t we all? — but I had some blips on the radar this week. I know where I made mistakes, so I’m not at all upset. In fact, I’m actually glad I lost a pound!

I’ve been back on track since Wednesday, and I’ve changed my weigh date to Wednesdays now, so hopefully, I can have a good weekend and a bit bigger loss by next Wednesday.

just thought I would nip in and post this site about cravings - I thought it was quite interesting and it may help us all to choose healthy options when our body seems to be shouting out for a chocolate bar or a pack of crisps…

Food cravings….and a healthier choice.
