It’s 6:35am and I just choked down some yogurt for breakfast. I happen to really like yogurt, but not before, say, 10am. Actually, I don’t like much of anything in my stomach before 10am. I know that breakfast is important, but I DREAD it. Just the thought of eating in the morning makes me about half woozie.
Any tips on painless, quick breakfasts?

1/2 cup of eggbeaters and 6 oz. of all natural grapefruit juice (or half a large grapefruit) for me! I’m such a creature of habit. I’ve grown to like it, and it takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare.

And me as well. Being a creature of habit, that is. I’ve settled into a routine of a poached egg on dry, multigrain toast most mornings. I know what you mean about not wanting to eat first thing in the morning, though. I’ve never been able to eat breakfast as soon as my feet hit the floor, not even when I was a kid, much to my mother’s chagrin. What about using that yogurt, some juice and a fruit to make a smoothie? That might go down easier.
I’ll put a recipe in the recipe section for a low-cal smoothie that I like.

I like raisin bran cereal bars. Cranberry is my favorite, but I like cinnamon, too. It isn’t too heavy and tastes great. I am not a big breakfast eater either.

If I’m in a hurry and just need to get it done than it’s a piece of fruit, low fat granola bar and yogurt. You really need those nutrients to get your metabolism jump started for the day.

I have a hard time with breakfast too. But one idea is going to the healthfood store, mine is Vitamin World but any will do and ask for a soy protein powder. Mine has 90% protien and has no preservatives, no sugar, no aspartame. Usually different flavors but I think vanilla is best. blend with favorite juice ( I like pineapple) a few berries (strawberries) and a few ice cubes. The protien will give you a good kick and its more like a shake in the morn. Its easy and even my kids like them.

Thanks for all the great ideas, ladies!
I’ll have a lot of options to try out. I have to say, I’m especially looking forward to trying the smoothie!
