Happy Valentines Day Treat

Hubby got me Hershey Kisses. Did you know that 9 of them are just 5 points? That’s do-able!

I’m savoring them over the entire day today (about 1 per hour) to make the work day go a little “sweeter”. :)

Happy Valentines Day to all!

Hello!

I decided to try P2G after reading about it on Shelli’s blog. I have been on Weight Watchers since June 2003 and I have yet to reach my goal. This past year, I have gained almost all my weight back due to lack of motivation. For about 6 months at the end of 2004, I had hit a plateau, and never was quite able to pull myself out of it. :(

My dad and I started to challenge each other. We set goals for the amount we want to lose. For him it is 25lbs, for me 19 lbs. Whoever gets closest to their goal has to pay for 1/2 of the other person’s reward. He would like to get a tattoo to honor my sister – so I would pay half of that if I lose. I want to fly out there again in April. If I win, he will pay half my plane ticket. My weekend didn’t go well, but so far this week, I have done pretty well with my eating. I feel really motivated to lose these pounds.

Happy Hearts

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!  I’m sure all our hearts are happier. :)

Week 1 Recap

-2lbs.

When I lost weight with WW several years ago, I lost 6 lbs the first week, 6 the next, 5 the next and then it slowly settled into 1 or 2 lbs a week, with a few gains or washes thrown in the mix.  This time I’m trying to get back into a healthier lifestyle without WW or any other set plan.  I’m simply trying to get moving again, and I’m trying to make the healthiest food choices I can.  I know that 2lbs is good, and actually, it’s was my goal, but I didn’t realize how much I would miss the big 6 or 7 lb loss the first week.

My “just get moving again” has hit a small snag – I’ve developed a reeeeeeally painful corn between my toes.  Holy cats, does it hurt!  I’ve heard that these “soft corns”  develop due to poor-fitting shoes.  Now, I DO wear heels fairly often, but I’ve had all of those shoes forever and I’ve never had problems before.  The last new pair I bought was – get this – new sneakers purchased specifically to spur me on to exercise.  I’ve been wearing the sneakers for about 2 weeks or so.  I wouldn’t say they are uncomfortable or poor-fitting.  I DID notice that they are much stiffer than my beloved old Nikes, but I figured maybe the stiffness was good for my feet.  In a very unscientific experiment, I tried to wear my new sneakers with the new corn, and sure enough – the shoes are the culprit.  There is a little strip of stiff leather across the little-toe area on the sneaker which is just unyeilding enough to push the little toe into the next toe.  Pre-corn, it wasn’t painful.  Post-corn, forget it!

So – I’m back to my old sneakers as I hobble around.  I’m looking for alternate cardio exercises that don’t involve my feet for a week or so.  Any ideas?
