Hello. I love you. Good-bye.
I leave tomorrow for vacation. A lovely, me-and-the-husband-only vacation sandwiched between visits with family and two big birthday parties. My daughter is turning 2 years old, and my grandmother, 90. I will be eating at least a bite of cake in honor of each. Sue me.
The vacation with the hubs will be relaxing but busy. We’re going to Zion National Park and will be enjoying the free fun of hiking in the great outdoors. I love to hike but insist on returning in the evening to a nice bed and a shower, so we’re staying in the lodge.
I don’t anticipate losing any weight over the next week, but my goal is not to gain.
I probably won’t be checking in here during that time, but will be back with a full report after we return home. Good luck to all of you next week, and I hope there is less of you around when I get back.
song
“Habit is habit, and not to be kicked out the door at anytime, but coaxed down the stairs little by little.” ~ Mark Twain
I went home yesterday and was moody and did not want to work out. But, I did. I found my new Theme Song: Unwritten by Natasha Bedingford. It is great and brought me right out of my funk and I did my workout in a flash. I posted the lyrics on my blog if you are interested. You have probably heard the song it is all over VH-1. This song has the perfect beat for working out.
Thanks for all the support!

2-week weigh-in
Good morning, all. My “official” Wednesday morning weigh-in this morning revealed a 3-pound loss. I’d thought it was 4, but that was on days when I wasn’t eating at all over the past week, so I’m quite happy with the 3. (This is for *2* weeks.) Now to keep it off since I’ve gotten my eating back on track.
We’ve got another vehicle, new to us, and the damages were minimal to the other vehicle involved, so things have finally fallen back into place. I wouldn’t recommend “The Stress Diet” to anyone. :blech:
SparkPeople has a great article about re-setting your goals after straying from your path. It helped put things back in perspective for me now that I’m back on track.

Down is Good!
You’ve heard the expression, “I’m down today.”
Usually it evokes sympathy from those around you and if you live with “a fixer” he will try to do something to help you out, lighten the load, encourage you or at least give you a hug.
Well, I’m down today, but I’ve discovered that in some cases Down is Good!
If you are on a tall building that is on fire…….Down is Good!
If your cat is stranded in a tree…….Down is Good!
If you are fearful of heights…….Down is Good!
When you’ve jumped out of a plane and the parachute opens……Down is Good!
When the scale finally starts moving…….Down is Great!
I was down two more pounds this morning ! Don’t get me wrong, I am doing a “happy dance” today over their departure. I would have thrown them “a bon voyage” party except they keep coming back! These three pounds keep following “the bread crumbs back home!”………(and yes, I’m pretty sure bread is the culprit that keeps them coming back!)
Week 2
2.2 lbs lost this week / 8 lbs total through 2 weeks / 32 lbs to go.
I’m pleased by the weight loss, but I’m ECSTATIC because yesterday the jeans I wore fit comfortably, when 2 weeks ago they were tight. I didn’t realize how much differently I was carrying myself and shielding myself from others because I felt uncomfortable in my clothes. Yesterday was the first day in a long time that I didn’t stand at the copier at work and think, “Please God, don’t let anyone come up behind me.” Sounds crazy, I know, but true.
Welcome to the new members…this is a GREAT place to get inspired and educated!
