In a few weeks, I should have met my goal. I had until June 21 to lose nearly 50 lbs, and as of today, I’m STILL holding at 23.5 lbs. lost.
Not too shabby. I’m not where I want to be, but I haven’t gained it all back. For that I’m grateful.
The changes I’ve made have become permanent little alterations in my life now. Black coffee, pop a bag of raspberry green tea into it for flavor and antioxidants. Protein & good carb combo for breakfast, add half a ruby red grapefruit if they’re in season (they haven’t been, and I am pout!). Lunch has been a quick bite, a protein, or a protein and little carb. Dinner is whatever I can come up with, but I do notice I am drawn more to proteins like fish and chicken or beef hot dogs (low sodium pure beef, I’m picky about that now). I don’t drink soda – but then again I haven’t had soda in so long I cant remember.
I’ve added two supplements to my diet. I’m already on levotyroxine (50mcg) for life, I have taken a women’s daily multivitamin for years. I added an enteric coated triple omega complex (3-6-9) and CO Q-10 (50 mg daily). I can feel a difference from both of them, my “rolls” are slowly but surely burning away, and I’m maintaining a good energy level. Here’s more info on Co Q-10 if you’d like to see what it is.
I told my hubby during all of our landscaping and all of my sweating that I’m surprised, still, that as much as I do that I’m still so “big”. Really, honestly, I’m not as big as I was.
We were at Target lastnight and I picked up a pair of drawstring capris, in a size XL, and held them up to me. They went beyond my waistline by nearly a foot. Back in late December (just 5 months ago), they would have been just right. I know I’m better than I was – I also know I’m not where I want to be yet. It’s just so slow going, what the heck am I going to write about?
I also have had some folks wanting to become members that I haven’t processed yet. It’s nothing personal, but I’d like to check in here and find out how many current active members and readers we have? I would like to be sure we have the means and community support to encourage new members. Otherwise I’ll pull down the membership application, I don’t want to discourage folks from meeting their goals if activity is low – especially over the summer months.
So, I’m still hangin in, just dangling my legs off the back of this wagon – you know it’s grillin’ season. I found some awesome teriyaki chicken breasts at Sam’s Club and WOOOOWIE they’re GOOD! Toss some sauteed/grilled zucchini in the mix and what a great summer dish – followed by a cup of ice cream, of course.
I hope you’re all doing well, check in and let me know if you’re still around!

I never thought I’d have a little weight problem but I do. I have an ectomorphic body type with a little bit of a mesomorphic so all my life, I’ve been thin. The key is exercise and diet to be sure. Problem is I like food!
I have done it though. I know the secrets to losing weight, but I don’t always practice what I preach. Leanne, keep going. Don’t give up.
