I’m recommitted….
I just decided over the weekend to lose 20 pounds by my birthday in Sept. EEEKK!! I worked out 4 days last week and have been trying to eat better and drink that water.
Sometimes life just gets in the way and we have to re-adjust and scale back. I have about 10 things that had to get done by last weekend. I decided that they can get/be done by the weekend and the world will not end.
Count me back in!
Back On Track!
Hi, Leanne I am back, really I am!! See! :wave: Sorry everyone for being MIA, I had to do some readjusting on the diet front. But I’m adjusted now and I’m happy to report that being only two weeks in I’ve lost five pounds. May not seem like much, but to me it’s a giant step. I’ve been at a plateau for so long that it’s so nice to finally have a loss!!! So how did I loss this 5lb’s you ask? Jenny Craig! I am determined to show Kirsti Alley a thing or two! Just you watch and see! What has made this so easy for me is my husband joined with me. It makes it so much easier to do it together. So we take it one day at a time, together. It’s a rather nice way to diet I must say.
Trying to catch up.
Summer is quickly coming to an end here. I realized this when I got a call from the preschool my daughter attends. eeek. In some ways I am excited because I can focus on me a little after the kids are in school. I will have 4 kids in school this year, that leaves only 2 at home. Much easier to get a workout time figured out.
WW is going great for me. I just got back from a road trip. For those of you who know what it is I went to Creation West. In which I got plenty of exercise dancing and jumping around to several concerts a day. I skipped my weigh in yesterday at WW because I got back home about 2 hours before the meeting started and I just had no energy left. I did weigh myself though and I gained some weight.. now worried about it because I am sure its water retention from the heat and lack of water this last week. I am downing water like you wouldn’t believe today in hopes to flush it all out.
Count Me In For Long Haul
Yep, I’m pretty much at a standstill. I have battled since January and I have just only lost 20 lbs., 5 of those pounds keep coming and going. I am not giving up but I am frustrated. But, I will soon be working from home as Kaiser has run out of office space. I can get more done at home anyway. Therefore, no more goodies on an almost daiiy basis. I can get more in a routine of cooking something healthy for breakfast and lunch without involving fast food or food on the run. This will be good. I can also break when I want and I will have a 12 hour window to get my work done. I can make time for a workout in the middle of the day and go for “doggy walks”. I think things will go a little better. I’ve really been almost embarassed to weigh in at Weight Watchers because nothing ever happens lately except to lose 5 lbs., gain 5 lbs. lose gain, etc. My group leader is great and they never make me feel bad, however, it is embarassing. She always tells me to not give up and that we are at a different place in our lives than we were when the pounds came off very easily. So…. onward, and I hope everyone will come back for encouragement and continue. We can do it, I’m sure. Summer is a hard time because of all the activities, winter is hard because of the holidays… there will always be something I suppose so we just have to figure out what works best for us.
Things I Know
Some things that changed from supposition to absolutes for me over the summer:
1. That WATER really does make a huge difference — with it I lose, without it, I don’t;
2. Two 8oz glasses of skim or 1% milk a day make a difference in the weight I lose;
3. Whole grains, lentils, beans, etc. can be a wonderful alternative to meat — we’ve cut back on our meat consumption considerably over the summer. We haven’t noticed a great deal of difference on the scales ( :duh: ), but we both feel better for it;
4. My grandchild, due in three weeks, is a BOY!
I’m about 4lbs below the weight I started at last January. Doh! :blush: I don’t seem to do well with short-term goals, so I’m going to recommit myself to losing 40lbs by Christmas. It’s doable, I know, if I just apply myself and get moving again!
Still Here
I am truly embarassed :shame: to say my last post was… Valentine’s Day. Does this mean I stopped working on losing weight then? Oh no. In fact, I’ve made good progress and, for at least the last month or two have hovered within 5 pounds or less of my WW “Goal Weight”.
I am at 40lbs+ total weight loss since starting back in Dec. of 2005. My husband has created a lovely “before and after” photo for me by placing a picture of me in July 2005 at our son’s birthday party next to a photo from this year’s birthday party. You can definitely see the weight loss, it’s a good thing.
However, I haven’t hit “goal” and I haven’t exercised and eaten well since back in April. Life’s been too hectic - and it shows. While I haven’t gained a lot of weight back, I can definitely feel the difference in my energy level and my physical appearance.
P2G Member Roll Call!
The end of summer is upon us, and those jeans are sitting there at the bottom of the pile mocking us. Okay. I speak for myself.
