Some things that changed from supposition to absolutes for me over the summer:
1. That WATER really does make a huge difference — with it I lose, without it, I don’t;
2. Two 8oz glasses of skim or 1% milk a day make a difference in the weight I lose;
3. Whole grains, lentils, beans, etc. can be a wonderful alternative to meat — we’ve cut back on our meat consumption considerably over the summer. We haven’t noticed a great deal of difference on the scales ( :duh: ), but we both feel better for it;
4. My grandchild, due in three weeks, is a BOY!
I’m about 4lbs below the weight I started at last January. Doh! :blush: I don’t seem to do well with short-term goals, so I’m going to recommit myself to losing 40lbs by Christmas. It’s doable, I know, if I just apply myself and get moving again!
So – P2G = 40

You’re SO right about water. I’ve been trying to increase my intake again, too.
Lowfat yogurt is good too, that skim milk factor. It also has a great deal of protein. I’ve been finding it on sale a lot lately and have been stocking up and when I feel snacky, it’s nice and cool and fruity!
It’s a BOY! YAHOO!!! :dance:
