Wow–already a month has passed!

Well, a month has passed and I haven’t updated. That’s mainly because there’s no update. No progress. Well, a tiny bit of progress. I gained about 4 pounds back of the original 12 I lost. This month, I’ve taken off about 2 of those 4 pounds. Not much, but at least the scale is going down.

I’m currently reading The Schwarzbein Principle and would love any feedback from anyone who has read and/or followed this eating plan. It is a lot like the core plan on Weight Watchers, except that it also wants you to eliminate artificial sweeteners (except for Stevia) from your diet.

The book was written by an endocrinologist who worked for years with Type II diabetics and saw that the ADA’s recommended diet, which is carb and calorie heavy, was not working. It isn’t severe, like Adkins or South Beach. But, it is hard. Most things are organic and hard to find at my local grocery.

If you have diabetes and have found success at “unsticking” your weight and losing what you neat, please reply back too. I exercise very consistently and hard and nothing seems to budge the scale. I know this is from my diabetes now, and I have to change my diet and get my system to functioning more normally if I’m to ever lose what I need.

The thing that seems to make the biggest difference for me when I’m stuck (or re-starting…again) is to up my water intake…dramatically. Like 120oz/day if I can get it in. Whether it’s the fluid loss or the fact that you’re full of water and not hungry, it always gets me going again.

Hey, you’ve lost half the weight you gained back…that’s awesome!:clapping:

You’ve piqued my curiosity about The Schwarzbein Principle and I’ll have to look it up! Continued success!

Hey babe, I’ve heard of the book but not read it. I lost 10 pounds on Michael Thurmond’s diet…no salt, no sugar, no fat, (absolutely no taste either!) I’m doing carb cycling now and it seems to really be working for me. I’ve lost 15 pounds since July 1st. :veggiedance:

So many people have had so much success with WW, if your plan is that similar it has to be a good one. It’s a good thing that you’re on your way back down again, those creepers can really be a pain!

Like NancyB – my success has always been based on water water water. The more, the better – and I have to get back on track with that as well.

Have you been implementing things from the book slowly and steadily, or are you just “doing it”?

Hehehe. Love those dancing fruit, Daisy! I replied back to a couple of you via email.

Leanne, I am definitely not just doing it with this program. I don’t even know if I can eat as organic as the book would have me do. But, I am implementing what I can and trying to do more and more each day. I’ve only been trying it for a few days, but I’ve read the whole book now and am referring back.

If you look into the book ladies, be sure to get The Schwarzbein Principle PROGRAM book. It’s a later edition and a summary of her two previous Principle I and II books. I found it easy to read and very educational. Most of the reviews and things I have read about her have been very good–it’s not just some gimmicky diet. It’s the stuff that doctors know that we don’t!
