I decided today not to continue with WW for the next 10 weeks. (I do an at-work program with 10-week sessions.) It’s not that I’m not benefiting from the meetings and the resources: I am. It’s that money is tight around our house right now, and we are cutting back to “essentials only” for September and October.
I’ve been sticking with the Core Plan and am finding that it works well for the way I shop, cook and eat. I’m going to need some social support, though, and am trying to figure out how to get some of what the meetings offer for free.
So, I’ll be checking in here more frequently and plan to see what the WW message boards have to offer. I’ve heard about Sparkpeople somewhere (here maybe?) and am wondering if anyone has any opinions about that.
Or anything else that meets the criteria of “helpful” and “free.”
In other words, the opposite of a link to the Godiva chocolate homepage.

There is Obesityhelp.com that has a lot of active people on it. They push gastric bypass surgery but there are a lot of intersting things to be found there.

There are a lot of program resources in the sidebars, I hope you’ll check them out and see if any of them fit what you’re looking for.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about SparkPeople and their forums, and that is free, too.
I hear you on the cutting back. I’ve been writing down the meals that I make so that I can prepare a grocery list each week JUST for the foods that we actually eat and are good for us. Come September 1st, we’re on a strict grocery budget.
I’ll be posting those menu options in the next few days, I need to get them typed out. Hopefully you’ll find them useful, too.

I’m not doing WW anymore either, but after a summer of not really eating on plan I’m considering diving back into core myself. I’ll write more on that on my update tonight.
The Core Tips Exchange on the WW message boards is fantastic. Lots of success stories sharied and tons of recipes. Even example menus for the day.
Best of luck to you! I’d love to hear more about how you’ve incorporated Core into your life without having extreme carb cravings. It worked some for me, but not fully and I really don’t want to fully give up my carbs.

I highly recommend SparkPeople. It’s at sparkpeople.com
Totally free, lots of support and resources and tools. I’ve been using it since late January.
