I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season and have an even better new year.
So….. here we are again , back at square 1 once more. Well, I guess it is good that we are here and not ignoring something important to us right? I am trying to get my head in the right place so as to try to stay on track again. It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have to gain back all the progress we have made time and time again, but I have no one to blame but myself. When you quit paying attention, you pay, dearly. Once again I come, tail tucked betweeen my legs to start over. The good thing is I know you all are not judgmental and totally understand. :grouphug:
I am actually working on quite a few things, but in trying to get my head together, I have found this book a dear friend recommended I read, which she said is helping her tremendously. It is called “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” by Catherine Ponder. This is not a new book and has been around for a long time. It deals in a nut shell about forgiveness, letting go and thinking positively. It is doing me a lot of good. I am not one for self-help books for the most part but this one seems very different some how. I highly suggest it. It is not just monetary prosperity but prosperity in all aspects of our lives.
I have read some interesting things regarding belly fat and the cause of it: 1) Lack of good, quality sleep of at least 8 hours. 2) Trans fats. 3) Stress. So.. I will work on these. Secondly, I am going to avoid sugar wherever I can and eat more protein. 3) journal my food intake. 4) Most importantly, positivity and no negativity and just do the best I can.
I will officially start my “diet” 1/8/07. I don’t think I will weigh in tho… i can’t bear it right now. I know really anyways by how my clothes are fitting. I hope we can all encourage each other once again… I know it was going pretty good last year. Thanks Leanne for not shutting this down. It was a lot of fun cheering each other on. We can be successful, I know we can. ![]()

Hey Sue….Right there with you on the road to Thin City. I’m glad the book is helping you. Cheering you on and will gladly carry some of your load. Welcome back!

I’m all for starting again, I’ve done it almost every day for the last um… 20 something years.
It’s like we don’t remember how hard it is. Like childbirth - the pain and effort quickly escapes us until we’re 9 months pregnant again. Then the whole thing starts over and we think “crap, that hurt last time, NOW I remember!”
So. Maybe we just need to remind eachother how hard we work to get to where we’re going, so that when we get there, we don’t dilly dally around and forget the dang birth control pills again. Of course that’s a total metaphor, nobody’s pregnant. Right?
:p
I’m glad you’re back.
I’m checking out this thing, Fluidity. Have you seen this?
The book you’re reading sounds good. I have some issues with forgiveness myself. I can’t seem to finish the book I started on the subject.
Let me know if I can do anything for you, ok?

Stress produces cortisol, and cortisol turns almost exclusively to belly fat! You’re right on that one. And sleep is something I never get enough of…it’s my own fault. I have fibromyalgia and a host of back and shoulder problems from work (paramedic), but mostly, I just don’t lay my head on the pillow early enough. That’s something I need to work on as well.
Good luck! This IS hard work, but hey, have you ever seen a group of stronger women?
