Lose Weight Forever

An interesting and informative article from the Canadian Reader’s Digest:D

You Need This!

Why do you need this? It has the MOST fiber I’ve seen on any cereal package and it. tastes. awesome. Natural carbs, potassium etc.. this was quite a find for me. I’ve been trying to keep a good balance of fat, carbs, fiber & protein every day and I’ve finally found something that gives me my fiber (25g/day) in two servings.

Here’s some info on why fiber is such an important part of everyone’s diet.

Fiber — particularly soluble fiber — can also lower blood cholesterol levels and slow the absorption of sugar, which for people with diabetes, can help improve blood sugar levels. A high-fiber diet may also reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Eating a high-fiber diet may also help with weight loss. High-fiber foods generally require more chewing time, which gives your body time to register when you’re no longer hungry, so you’re less likely to overeat. Also, a high-fiber diet tends to make a meal feel larger and linger longer, so you stay full for a greater amount of time. And high-fiber diets tend to be less “energy dense,” which means they have fewer calories for the same volume of food.

Add that cereal to your grocery list, right next to a gallon of skim milk!

Got Treadmill?

Do you have a treadmill? Do you want a treadmill? What kind of exercise equipment do you use, what kind would you use if you had it right in your home?

I am asking because I am thinking about raffling off a brand new treadmill to one of our members, so SPEAK UP! What would your interest level be in contributing a minimum of $10 and having a 1 in 40-60′ish chance of winning?

Evening Snacking Article

Good morning, all! I hope you all have a great day.

I found an article on SparkPeople this morning about evening snacking that I thought might be helpful to some. It has cues to eating and ideas on how to control them. I know it’s my biggest downfall. :)
