How to Lose Weight the Right Way

“How does one become a butterfly?” she asked pensively.

“You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.”

~Trina Paulus

The quote at the meeting this week is so appropriate. Without these meetings, I might not keep things like this in mind, I would definitely not feel like I am holding myself accountable for my health and in turn – my weight.

Not all detox diets programs are suitable for everyone. A zone diet should be picked and adopted according to one’s preferences. There is no idiot proof diet and to follow sacred heart diet you need a lot of will power.

WW WW #10

ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #10!

If you’re following my weight loss progress, you’re noticing that I haven’t kept my promise of detailing out the reasons for my weight loss success as of yet. I’ve started it, but as many of you know – my clients come first, and I had a doozie of a project last week (No, not you – or you either. You don’t know ‘em. I promise.) that stressed me out a bit and kept my head in a cloud of CSS. It also kept my loss at a minimum – but I’m just happy to see another negative number!

This week is looking much better and I’m excited to get a few really neat projects done and I will, of course, link them like a crazy person.

First week: -4.6 lbs.
Second week: -4.2 lbs.
Third week: -1.6 lbs.
Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
Sixth week: -2.6 lbs.
Seventh week: -1.2 lbs.
Eighth week: -2.2 lbs.
Ninth week: -1 lbs.
* * Tenth week: -.2 lbs. * *
Total to date: -20.8 lbs.

Now I will go get that post finished for you and you’ll see it tomorrow right here. (Pinki swear.)

An alkaline diet is the most easily adaptable diet plan. People who have been doing liquid diet know this. Usually people choose mediterranean diet for these reasons. However, with time we now have new plans like diabetic diet.

WW WW #9

ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #9!

The past few days, I’ve been writing this big long detailed entry (in my head) about how this works for me, why I think it’s successful, and what it really takes to make the changes I’ve made and not fail. It’s still in my head, of course – because I have blog designs to finish, and a faucet that decided to rain on my morning, and I have a post-it pad in front of me that I’m jotting more “to-do’s” on as I think of them. I am not even finished with my first cup of coffee this morning, and the day is half over. Happy Monday! heh!

First week: -4.6 lbs.
Second week: -4.2 lbs.
Third week: -1.6 lbs.
Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
Sixth week: -2.6 lbs.
Seventh week: -1.2 lbs.
Eighth week: -2.2 lbs.
* * Ninth week: -1 lbs. * *
Total to date: -20.6 lbs.

I’ve hit my 20 pound goal, and I set my target this morning, and have just 8 pounds to go to reach it. Then it’ll be whatever it is – if I keep losing, then great! I’m not going to change anything about what I’ve been doing, because I don’t really want more fat cells than a normal person should have.

Shopping did commence one afternoon last week, I was amazed to find jeans 3 sizes smaller and shirts 2 sizes smaller were a perfect fit for me. Of course no shopping spree is complete without a (couple) pair of shoes, and a belt – to hold up my pants if they start to get big again! It was a bit surreal, so I had to stick the sticker from the leg of the jeans on my desk nice and visible so it sinks in. Really. I did.

Much to do, and I promise that within the next day or two, I will detail out what I’ve been doing so that if you’re inspired, you can make the changes you need to make to start reaching your goals, too.

WW WW #8

ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #8!

This marks the end of my 8th week on the Weight Watchers Core plan. What do I have to show for it? A drawer full of pants that are TOO BIG. Not that I’m complaining, of course! Do I wish I could see the difference in the mirror? Absolutely. I can feel the difference in my clothes, but I see the same thing in the mirror – I even see the same numbers in my head when I picture my weight on the scale. Self image is a horrible thing – at this point I’m not sure if a hundred people came up and told me how much weight I’d lost if I would even believe them. It’s strange how our psyche can really be so far off from reality, and I wonder what it is going to take to fix that.

Regardless, I do have something to share this week!

Ahhh now what. What is my next goal?! Well, I think 20 pounds is pretty attainable at this point. And then just a few more to hit a whole new set of 10’s on the scale.

And then, then the shopping will commence. custom smiley

WW WW #7

ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #7!

Here I go again with another update, another loss this week although it could have been better, I’m okay with it and I’ll do better this week. Next week I should have a nice pretty picture of a (faux) gold 10% keychain for you. custom smiley

First week: -4.6 lbs.
Second week: -4.2 lbs.
Third week: -1.6 lbs.
Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
Sixth week: -2.6 lbs.
* * Seventh week: -1.2 lbs. * *
Total to date: -17.4 lbs.

10% target: .6 pounds away.

The last week was hurried and rushed and I ate out twice – even though my choices were okay, they could have been better and I probably sabotaged my own goal of getting to 10% this week. I feel as though I completely failed myself the whole week in both my weight loss and my own personal goals, and in turn failed everyone around me. Not that you guys even know what my goals were, but that’s just the kind of pressure I put on myself. I need to learn to let that stuff go.

I did get a couple of things accomplished already this morning, trying to make up for my personal failures last week, so any absence here on my blog will definitely not be indicative of me being lazy. I have a lot to do to get things where I expected them to be, I just hope this week is clear of the hurdles I encountered last week.

Getting caught up on e-mail is on my list of things-to-do, too. I hope you’re all doing well, and thanks for standing by and supporting me!!

xoxo

WW WW #6

ww.jpgWeight Watchers Weekly Weigh-in #6!

It’s that time again, time for my weekly edition of “Holy Hell My Pants Are Falling Off”. Today marks the end of my sixth full week eating foods on the Core food list (ahem, no, you may not count the Domino’s as food.), and I even managed to surprise myself this week.

First week: -4.6 lbs.
Second week: -4.2 lbs.
Third week: -1.6 lbs.
Fourth week: -2.4 lbs.
Fifth week: -.8 lbs.
* * Sixth week: -2.6 lbs. * *
Total to date: -16.2 lbs.

I got my third star that marks 15 pounds today. My next star is only 3.8 lbs. away.

10% target: 1.8 pounds away.

So, uh, yeah! WoOt! Holy wowzeroonies, I don’t know what happened! Well, yes I do, I ate a lot more fish this week than I normally do, ’cause I found this phenomenal Coconut encrusted tilapia with papaya and mango that I couldn’t resist. Other than that, it’s been a relatively normal week with the fruits and the vegetables and the proteins and the brown rice and whole grain high fiber bread. These are things I’m used to now, and obviously they work – so I don’t intend to change my ways any time soon.

I cleaned my drawers out yesterday, went through my shorts and jeans and ended up with a nice stack of relatively new stuff that is too big/baggy to wear. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that.

For those of you thinking this is my first go at this – it’s not. When Hubby left for Iraq, I weighed over 200 pounds. I dropped 55 pounds while he was gone, gained about 20 back after he returned, lost the 20 again and held for a year. Now I’m going for the gusto – down to my pre-pregnancy weight from 12 years ago. Since 2004, I’ve lost 65.6 pounds, not counting the 20 I gained back and lost again. I have about 10-15 pounds to go before I reach my own ultimate personal goal, but I’ll keep eating this way because I feel better.

I have to say – this is a nice way to start the week. If the rest of the week follows suit, I should get a lot accomplished. Wish me luck much productive time!
